In fact, supporters of Piccinni (“Piccinnistes”) hoped that the Italian composer would demonstrate the superiority of his style with Iphigénie, and scholars have used these settings to illustrate the difference between the two composers.</p>A map of the world from the best authorities.2012-07-08T06:10:35-05:00https://texashistory.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metapth231352/<p><a href="https://texashistory.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metapth231352/"><img alt="A map of the world from the best authorities." title="A map of the world from the best authorities." src="https://texashistory.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metapth231352/thumbnail/"/></a></p><p>Map shows the basic geography and major cities in six continents and the routes of exploration taken by Captain James Cook between 1768 and 1780. He moved to Paris and established himself as an operatic composer; La mélomanie (1781) is one of his most famous operas, and it remained in the repertoire at the Opéra-Comique until 1829. La mélomanie actually mocks the debate between French and Italian styles of music, with Fugantini as an Italian who is rejected by the French Elise. References to harmony (a French feature) and melody (emphasized by advocates of Italian music) abound in the opera.</p>Musices instructio in brevissimo regulari compendio radicaliter data, das ist, Kürzest- doch wohl gründlicher Weg und wahrer Unterricht die edle Sing-Kunst, denen Regeln gemäss recht aus dem Fundament zu erlernen2017-01-18T13:08:36-06:00https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc948151/<p><a href="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc948151/"><img alt="Musices instructio in brevissimo regulari compendio radicaliter data, das ist, Kürzest- doch wohl gründlicher Weg und wahrer Unterricht die edle Sing-Kunst, denen Regeln gemäss recht aus dem Fundament zu erlernen" title="Musices instructio in brevissimo regulari compendio radicaliter data, das ist, Kürzest- doch wohl gründlicher Weg und wahrer Unterricht die edle Sing-Kunst, denen Regeln gemäss recht aus dem Fundament zu erlernen" src="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc948151/thumbnail/"/></a></p><p>A music theory book, giving basic instructions for singing scales, intervals and chants.</p>Storia Della Musica: Volume 32010-07-07T10:17:31-05:00https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc25966/<p><a href="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc25966/"><img alt="Storia Della Musica: Volume 3" title="Storia Della Musica: Volume 3" src="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc25966/thumbnail/"/></a></p><p>This is a copy of the third of three volumes of "Storia della musica" (Music History), including numerous figures, musical examples demonstrating theoretical concepts of Greek music, and footnotes.
