The authors reveal that the spin accumulation induced in the bulk by an electric current is intrinsically protected by the quasi-persistent spin helix arising from the crystal symmetries present in chiral systems with the Weyl spin–orbit coupling.</p>Autoencoder Composite Scoring to Evaluate Prosthetic Performance in Individuals with Lower Limb Amputation2023-09-21T06:31:05-05:00https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc2178725/<p><a href="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc2178725/"><img alt="Autoencoder Composite Scoring to Evaluate Prosthetic Performance in Individuals with Lower Limb Amputation" title="Autoencoder Composite Scoring to Evaluate Prosthetic Performance in Individuals with Lower Limb Amputation" src="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc2178725/thumbnail/"/></a></p><p>Authors of the article created an overall assessment metric using a deep learning autoencoder to directly compare clinical outcomes in a comparison of lower limb amputees using two different prosthetic devices—a mechanical knee and a microprocessor-controlled knee. Although the most prevailing bi-clausal analysis of RDCs adopts the perspective that the repetition of the antecedent clause occurs in collocation, this paper shows that the same surface strings are potentially ambiguous since right dislocation is a heterogeneous phenomenon. It proposes additional types of a bi-clausal structure and discusses evidence that suggests that even when the surface strings are the same the recovery of the ellipsis site is possibly derived in multiple ways through the use of distinct linguistic strategies.</p>Abraham Solvation Parameter Model: Prediction of Enthalpies of Vaporization and Sublimation of Mono-Methyl Branched Alkanes Using Measured Gas Chromatographic Data2022-05-27T05:54:59-05:00https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1934129/<p><a href="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1934129/"><img alt="Abraham Solvation Parameter Model: Prediction of Enthalpies of Vaporization and Sublimation of Mono-Methyl Branched Alkanes Using Measured Gas Chromatographic Data" title="Abraham Solvation Parameter Model: Prediction of Enthalpies of Vaporization and Sublimation of Mono-Methyl Branched Alkanes Using Measured Gas Chromatographic Data" src="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1934129/thumbnail/"/></a></p><p>Article determines Abraham model L solute descriptors for 174 additional mono-methyl branched alkanes based on published linear-programmed gas chromatographic retention indices.</p>Genomic diversity of bacteriophages infecting Microbacterium spp2022-05-27T05:52:18-05:00https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1934093/<p><a href="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1934093/"><img alt="Genomic diversity of bacteriophages infecting Microbacterium spp" title="Genomic diversity of bacteriophages infecting Microbacterium spp" src="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1934093/thumbnail/"/></a></p><p>Article describing the isolation and genomic characterization of 116 phages that infect Microbacterium spp.</p>A practical guide for assessing respiratory burst and phagocytic cell activity in the fathead minnow, an emerging model for immunotoxicity2022-05-27T05:46:47-05:00https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1934010/<p><a href="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1934010/"><img alt="A practical guide for assessing respiratory burst and phagocytic cell activity in the fathead minnow, an emerging model for immunotoxicity" title="A practical guide for assessing respiratory burst and phagocytic cell activity in the fathead minnow, an emerging model for immunotoxicity" src="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1934010/thumbnail/"/></a></p><p>Article is a study with the goal of optimizing and validating the use of a colorimetric plate-based respiratory burst and fluorometric plate-based phagocytic cell activity assays for use with kidney cells from the fathead minnow (Pimephales promelas), an emerging immunotoxicity model.</p>CaMV35S promoter – A plant biology and biotechnology workhorse in the era of synthetic biology2022-05-27T05:46:47-05:00https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1934009/<p><a href="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1934009/"><img alt="CaMV35S promoter – A plant biology and biotechnology workhorse in the era of synthetic biology" title="CaMV35S promoter – A plant biology and biotechnology workhorse in the era of synthetic biology" src="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1934009/thumbnail/"/></a></p><p>This review article calls for establishing the CaMV 35S promoter as a quantitative reference standard for transcription activity in plants.</p>A Computational Study on the Aeroacoustics of a Multi-Rotor Unmanned Aerial System2021-12-06T08:09:21-06:00https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1863638/<p><a href="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1863638/"><img alt="A Computational Study on the Aeroacoustics of a Multi-Rotor Unmanned Aerial System" title="A Computational Study on the Aeroacoustics of a Multi-Rotor Unmanned Aerial System" src="https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc1863638/thumbnail/"/></a></p><p>Article studying the noise generated by a quadrotor biplane unmanned aerial system (UAS) for various conditions in terms of the UAS pitch angle, propellers rotating velocity (RPM), and the UAS speed to understand the physics involved in its aeroacoustics and structure-borne noise.</p>
