141 Ranch

Filmed in black and white and color, this amateur film presents in six chapters the daily routine of several young ranchers on Ranch 141: Southern Settings, Streams and Stones, Boys and Broncos, The Dangerous Debut of an Unbroken Cult, Color in the Corral, and Fragment of a Melodrama. The film shows these young men working cattle and horses on the ranch and also back at home with unidentified men and women. In "Fragment of a Melodrama" a man dressed up as a Native American and startles a rancher. The film concludes with young men riding their horses toward the camera. According to donor, Elizabeth Wally, 141 Ranch was located south of Interstate 10 between Kerville and Junction, near the town of Segovia. The ranch was located 141 miles from Austin.
