According to the title page, it contains "the full address of all the householders, white & colored, from Sixth Street, two blocks east from the city hospital to Magnolia Grove Cemetery in the west, and from Avenue A, or Water Street, in the north, to the beach; also a classified business directory, the officers and directors of banks, companies, etc; the names, places, and time of meeting of all societies, military and fire companies, courts, churches, etc."
