McClellan, and broadcaster Fulton Lewis, Jr. President General of the Order of Lafayette, Hamilton Fish, presided over the ceremony. Presenters and award recipients included Princess Diana Eristavi, Anna Chennault (widow of the Flying Tigers Commander Claire L. Chennault), James H.R. Cromwell, former Governor of New Jersey Charles Edison, Captain Eddie Rickenbacker, Major General Hugh J. Casey, Ambassador Spruille Braden, Colonel Alvin M.
