Mayes, President of the Carthage Marble Corp and the copy to him. Carswell makes note that he answered as requested in as helpful a way as he knew how.

Carswell advises that he sold his travel business but is requesting assistance in obtaining passage home for Miss Mary Ann Whitehead who is studying in London and has been unable to book passage due to heavy bookings.

A Western Union telegram sent to T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Eula Clark, St. Louis, MO, dated Oct. 11, 1946. Eula requests twenty-five dollars assuring that nothing is wrong.
