Hethcoat expresses their appreciation for Carswell having informed the hospital of his plans for Mrs. Carswell. A letter written to Mrs. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Mrs. Wilson, The Abilene Woman's Club, Abilene, Texas, dated March 26, 1962. Advisement regarding delinquent dues. A handwritten note by Carswell advises that he mailed Byrdie Carswell's resignation at Mrs. Wilson's suggestion.

A letter written to Tommy Carswell from Sarah Anna Simmons Crane. Crane advises Carswell that his letter written in November reached her the second time it was sent in December. She expresses her appreciation for the gift, that it was so very gracious and that she used it for several things and is sending souveniers. Crane expresses her approval as "truly a beautiful thought" for the suggestion made by President Reiff in regards to the cornerstone and marker. She advises as to her wishes regarding the material used for her grave marker and requirements as to size.

A letter written to Tommy Carswell from Sarah Anna Simmons Crane. Crane advises of not having heard from Hardin-Simmons or Abilene for a long time but then she read of the death of the President of the Alumni Association and Dr. Jenkens and of plans for a Memorial Library for Dr. Reiff. She inquires after Mrs. Carswell regarding her stay in hospital and notes in a postcript of some New York souveniers that might be of interest to Carswell.

A letter written to Dr. Preston E. Harrison, Big Spring, Texas from T. N. Carswell, dated December 6, 1962. Carswell references a letter from Harrison and advises that he has received no word on whether he owes or is due a refund from the hospital. Carswell requests the opinion of Harrison's medical staff as to whether or not her heavy medication has anything to do with Mrs. Carswell's poor physical condition.

Carswell requests to know whether or not reading glasses have been received and tried for Mrs. Carswell. Handwritten note by Carswell that a copy was sent to Peggy.

A letter addressed to Messrs. John, Earl, Repps, and William Guitar from T. N. Carswell, dated Christmas 1962. Carswell expresses his fondness for their parents reminiscing of his association with them while employed at the Abilene Chamber of Commerce and congratulates "you boys" stating that their parents would have reason to be proud of of them.
