A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Floyd Chaffin, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Coleman, Texas, dated August 24, 1942. Chaffin acknowledges the receipt of the letter from Carswell regarding the effort to drive out the liquor traffic, expresses his desire to present the matter to the association and requests from Carswell a definite plan to follow as to how he thinks best to "go about it".

Taylor acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Carswell with reference to the dinner of June 12 and advises that he will be there and that the proposition by Carswell "to keep the record as indicated in his letter" is a good one.

[Letter from wife of parolee to T. N. Carswell - March 22, 1954]

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from the wife of a parolee in Coleman, Texas, dated March 22, 1954. The wife of the subject advises Carswell that this letter is in regards to the clemency case for her husband to be brought before the Board in June. She advises of her husband's plans to accept a job with Larghterdale and Strawn in Taylor County and requests that Carswell accept him as a parolee. She advises that her husband was interviewed by Rev. George Beto who made a recommendation to the Board for clemency and requests that Carswell write to the Board and send to her a copy of his letter.
