Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Marshall, Texas
Black and white photo-postcard of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located at 414 N. Washington Ave., in Marshall, Texas, taken sometime in the 1940s. The building was constructed in 1932. The view is taken from the southwest and shows the facade and the south side of the building. The two-story brick building with raised basement has two entrances on either side of a central section with a front facing gable roof. Stairs lead to each entry on the main level. The central portion has stained-glass windows on first and second floor levels. An automobile is parked in front of the building. Bushes have been planted on either side of the entrance stairs and along the south side of the building. At the bottom of the image in white letters is the title, "Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Marshall, Texas." The Marshall Church of Christ now uses the building. There is a postmark dated Sep 23, 1942 on the back. The card, signed by Nell King, was addressed to Bobby Nelson, Omaha, Nebraska.

Ginocchio Hotel, Marshall, Texas
Black and white halftone postcard of the Ginocchio Hotel, Marshall, Texas, 705 N. Washington Ave. The view is from the southeast, showing the south side of the building and part of the facade. Corbelled bricks mark the top of the second floor. A shed roof supported by poles covers the sidewalk in front of the building. Part of a sign saying "Drug Store" is visible beneath the shed roof. There are several brick chimneys. On the side of the building is an underground storage room or storm cellar with one of the doors open. The two-story brick, gable-roof building was designed by architect C. G. Lancaster in 1896. It was built as a railroad hotel, close to the railroad depot. Two telephone poles are in the foreground. On the white border below the image is printed the title, "Ginocchio Hotel, Marshall, Texas." There is no postmark or message on the back of the card.

[Home of the Governor of Missouri during the Civil War 1863-1865]
Photograph of a two-story hipped-roof house with wood siding that served as the Missouri Governor's house from 1863-1865 during the Civil War. The Governor rented it from Mrs. Mary Key. It was located at 204 East Crockett St. Architectural details indicate that the house was expanded and updated after the Civil War, later in the 19th century. Inscription in ink on the back of the photograph states: "Home of the governor of Missouri during the Civil War 1866."

The view is taken from the east and shows the facade and east side of the eight story building, as well as part of the two-story red brick Mahon Building to the hotel's east. There is a sidewalk canopy across the facade with 2nd floor balcony on top of it and what appears to be a terrace surrounding the eighth floor. There are automobiles parked on the street. Color halftone postcard showing the Henderson Motel, Marshall, Texas. Two images are shown on the card. The top one shows the central office section of the building with sections of rooms to its right and left. Lawn furniture is on the grass in front of the motel, as well as a flower bed, and signs in front of the office section give the name of the motel and also include "Air Conditioned," "Television," and "AAA." A Gulf service station is visible in the background. The bottom image shows the back of the building with a swimming pool in front of it. The pool has a diving board, and there are tables with red and green shade umbrellas and a lounge chair beside it. In the caption on the back of the card, Mr. and Mrs. R. Milton McDow are named as the owners and operators. Printed between the message and address sections is: "Pub. by Pat & Mildred Murphree, P. O. Box 8685, Dallas 16, Texas. Color halftone postcard showing the Harrison County Airport, Marshall, Texas. The modern building with brick and stone facing and many large windows with steel frames has four levels. The first floor is wide, with a central section with its roof extending forward to form a covered porch. On the far right of the building, steps lead up to a viewing area on top of the roof of the right section of the building. The second and third levels are above the central portion of the building, and the fourth level, for the flight controllers, is an octagonal room with windows on every side. A low chain link fence separates the terminal building from the runway in front of it. Printed at the bottom of the message section on the back of the card: "Pub. by Eastex Photo Supply, Marshall, Texas, 69603." Photograph of a large group of women and two children, identified on the back of the photograph as the Women's Group of the First Presbyterian Church of Marshall, Texas. Most are sitting on the front steps of the Sunday School building, but nine are standing at the back of the group. Many of the women are wearing cloche hats. Two small labels with the following writing are attached on the back: "Womens Group 1st Pres. Church, Marshall, 1920s or early 1930s. Sunday School bldg, 1st Pres Marshall, demolished ca. 1957."

Henderson's Garage, Marshall, Texas
Black and white halftone postcard showing Henderson's Garage in Marshall, Texas, located on the south side of the square, west of the city hall. The service bays were inserted into an older one-story brick masonry building. The two open bays have a sign above them saying "Auto Repair Shop" and a smaller sign between them saying "Gasoline 10 cents." The third bay is closed with a bench in front of it, and the fourth bay has the sign "Accessories" above it. Above all four bays a projecting corrugated iron canopy has "Ford" painted in large letters on it. "Henderson's Garage" is painted on the brick wall above the canopy and a separate commercial sign saying "Henderson's Garage" is mounted on top of the brick facade wall. Printed at the top of the image in red ink is the title "Henderson's Garage, Marshall, Texas." Printed on the left edge of the back: "39288 - Frey Wholesale Post Card Co., Pubs., Dallas." The card is addressed to Mrs. John Eguer, Garfield, Minn.

Hotel Marshall, Marshall, Texas
Color tinted halftone postcard of ca. 1907-1915 showing the Hotel Marshall, Marshall, Texas. It is a straight facade view with parts of the neighboring buildings visible. The hotel's three-story building has a sidewalk canopy across the full facade with multipaned clerestory windows above the canopy. A fire escape on the second bay from the right leads from the third story to the canopy and has a ladder from the third story to the roof. Two boys stand leaning on either side of a five-globe street light on the sidewalk in front of the building. A horse and buggy stand on the street to their right, and two men with straw hats sit next to the right side of the building. The horse is hitched to a ring in the sidewalk. Printed in black ink on the lower left border below the image is the title "Hotel Marshall, Marshall, Texas." There is no postmark or message on the back. The code A-68238 is printed on the back at the top left of the address section. Printed between the message and address sections: "C. T. American Art" and the logo of an intertwined C and T Co, Chicago in a circle.

Black and white halftone postcard showing the interior of the Jenkins Crystal Palace Drug Store in Marshall, Texas. The view shows an octagonal floor display case in the foreground and display case counters along both sides with shelves behind them. There appears to be a narrow balcony at a mezzanine level at the back. Garlands of large paper flowers decorate the sides of the room and the central hanging light fixtures. The stock is arranged in an ornamental decorative manner and includes a large cylindrical jar or container of canes on the left front. Faint pink coloring highlights the contents of the central octagonal case. Printed at the bottom in black ink below the image is the title "Interior of Jenkins Crystal Palace Drug Store, Marshall, Texas. The postmark on the back does not include a year. The card is addressed to Mrs. Bettie B. Murzbacher, Dallas, Texas.

Photograph of the house at 305 South Grove St., Marshall, Texas, taken in the 1930s by photographer Julian Barnes for a project of Mrs. Johnnie McCutchan. It is a two-story side-gable house of five bays with a two-story portico with four columns. Three dormer windows are in the roof. In the book "Hsitoric Marshall Revisited" by Edward W. Plummer, it is identified as the Fletcher Home, built in 1929 from the remains of a two-story house demolished by Henry McGee.

Color halftone postcard of the interior of Trinity Episcopal Church, Marshall, Texas, located at the northeast corner of N. Grove St. and W. Houston St., probably photographed in the 1920s. The view is taken from the back of the church looking up the aisle toward the altar with the pews on either side. A dominant feature is the open timber roof. Pointed-arch Gothic revival stained glass windows are on both sides and behind the altar. Eight ceiling fans are visible. Printed on the back between the message and address spaces: "C. T. American Art Colored" and a small logo of a circle with the letters C T Co overlapping in the center and Chicago below them.

It is a Greek Revival style raised cottage, with brick lower portion and wood siding on the main floor. A 1920s automobile with a canvas top is parked in front of the house. This photograph is one of a small series taken by photographer Julian Barnes for a project of Mrs. Johnnie McCutchan. Written on the back by Mrs. McCutchan: "Home of Cousin Pammie Barry, W.
