Whitman Classics (1955) edition of Heidi by Johanna Spyri with illustrations by Janet Smalley. The front cover has an illustration of Heidi standing barefoot on a patch of grass and flowers wearing a dirndl laced at the front. In her apron she is holding a batch of picked flowers. Tied around her hair is a floral patterned scarf. On the left is a goat kid looking at her flowers. In the background of the cover is a pink bas with white flowers, possibly edelweiss. At the top of the cover is a dark green stripe with the title of the book and the author's name. On the spine, the stripe continues but with just the title written in white text. The pink and flowers also continues along with the book's publisher and edition. The inside of the cover is a bright light green with cream colored fleur de lis. The illustrated pages of the book are colored with the same green as the interior cover and black.
