From summary: The purpose of this study was to delineate favorable areas for uranium resources in northeastern Washington and northern Idaho by identifying granitic rocks with relatively large amounts of uranium and (or) thorium. Results are based on analyses of 344 rock samples; 230 were collected during this study, and data for the rest were taken from previous publications.

From introduction: This report, one of a series of three reports (Marjaniemi and Robins, 1975a and 1975b) on a study of Tertiary sedimentary rocks in northeastern Washington, presents the results of an investigation of Tertiary sediments of the western Okanogan highlands and upper Columbia River valley. The project was conducted on behalf of the Energy Research and Development Administration (ERDA), formerly the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission.

From abstract: This geologic study of Kettle dome, northeast Washington, encompasses an area of approximately 800 square miles (2048 sq km). The evaluation of uranium occurrences associated with the igneous and metamorphic rocks of the dome and the determination of the relationship between uranium mineralization and stratigraphic, structural, and metamorphic features of the dome are the principal objectives. Evaluation of the validity of a gneiss dome model is a specific objective. The principal sources of data are detailed geologic mapping, surface radiometric surveys, and chemical analyses of rock samples.
