Eespons from Warren Woodward on behalf of Senator Lyndon B. Johnson, who was out of the office and unable to write a reply himself. The letter explains that, as Herrera requested, a flag was purchased, flown over the Capitol, and had been shipped to Herrera. Woodward requests that a reimbursement check for $2.74 be sent to him. The letter is typed on United States Senate Committee on Armed Services letterhead.

Letter from Gus C. Garcia to John J. Herrera dated May 21, 1949. Garcia is unable to come to Houston on May 25 to meet with the Council, which apparently is having difficulties with young members who are ready to criticize but unwilling to work.

Letter from C. V. "Buster" Kern, Sheriff, Harris County, Texas, to John J. Herrera, LULAC Regional Governor, dated May 18, 1949. Sheriff Kern was invited to attend a LULAC Council #60 meeting but is unable to attend.

Letter from John J. Herrera to Gus C. Garcia, about the LULAC scholarship fiesta to be held on May 25th. Herrera asks Garcia to speak at the event on the topic of "Education for Latin Americans in Texas." Herrera says that Garcia's presence will greatly help to draw crowds and thus raise money to help for scholarships for the young generation of Latino Americans.

Onionskin paper carbon copy of letter sent to Sheriff T. W. "Buckshot" Lane to assure him that John J. Herrera had received Lane's letter and was contacting his friends around Texas to try to find a Latin doctor willing to take up his proposition.

Letter from Sheriff T. W. "Buckshot" Lane asking if John J. Herrera knows any good Latin doctors in Houston or San Antonio, as Lane has realized that there no Latin doctors in his county and many Spanish-speaking residents therefore did not seek medical help, as they did not speak English. The contract stated that Morales had employed Belfi as the general manager of the proposed radio station in Houston, Harris County, Texas. The contract listed the salary and commission terms Belfi was to receive as well as housing and transportation accommodations. The full term of the contract was to expire after ten years on May 10, 1957 and it was signed by both parties and notarized.
