Postcard of the Confederate Monument in Marshall, Texas. Part of the Harrison County Courthouse is visible in the background to the left. A commercial building is visible across the street from the courthouse. The statue was designed by Frank Teich, carved in Italy, and dedicated in Marshall Jan. 19, 1906. The card was postmarked Sept. 6, 1907, Marshall, Texas, and addressed to Miss Irene Ferrell in Marion, Ill. Part of the message is continued on the image side of the card. First Presbyterian Church, Marshall, Tex.
Color tinted halftone postcard of the First Presbyterian Church, located at 310 N. Fulton St., in Marshall, Texas, photographed around 1907. The main building was constructed in 1884 in an English Arts and Crafts parish church style. The main gable-roofed structure has a picturesque tower entrance porch projecting on the right. Decorative shingles can be seen on the mid-level of the entrance tower and in the ends of the gables, and turned wood elements decorate the entrance porch. Bushes and trees surround the building. Printed on the upper right part of the image is the titles, "1136 First Presbyterian Church, Marshall, Tex." Printed on the right edge of the image: "Published by Mathewson Drug Co., Marshall, Tex." Printed on the back in the lower left corner is the Curt Teich Co. logo with the letters "C" and "T" intertwined , "Co." in the opening of the "C", and "Chicago" below. There is a postmark dated July 18, 1908. The card was addressed to Miss Nelle Lymes in Waco, Texas, and forwarded to her in Asheville, North Carolina.

Color tinted halftone postcard of the arrival of natural gas in Marshall, Texas, from Caddo Field. It is a dramatic nighttime view of a crowd standing in front of the Harrison County courthouse looking at a large flame atop a high gas standpipe anchored by wires to the ground. The caption at the bottom of the image describes the event: "Arrival of natural gas in Marshall from Caddo Field, May 24, 1909. Length of pipe line 25 miles, pressure 185 pounds. Marshall Gas Co., Marshall, Texas. Parker-Corti Photo." The postmark on the back is dated 1909, and the writer claims to have been among the crowd in the image. It is addressed to Mrs. John T. [Marshall Candy Kitchen & Ice Cream Parlor Display Window]
Photograph of elaborate decorative display window of the Marshall Candy Kitchen & Ice Cream Parlor. At the base of the window approximately 50 small bottles of Welch's grape juice are arranged with three dolls behind and larger bottles of Welch's juice. More smaller bottles are on a glass shelf behind and above with decorative paper figures of children drinking juice and an arrangement of artificial grapes and grape leaves. The name Marshall Candy Kitchen & Ice Cream Parlor is painted on the glass of the display window. Impressed in the bottom of the mount board is the photographer's name: Cockrell Studio, Marshall, Texas. Two yellow paper notes have been stuck on the back by the seller confirming the subject and one of which gives the estimated date of ca. 1910. The Marshall Candy Kitchen is listed in the 1912 Marshall city directory.

First M. E. Church, South, Marshall, Texas
Black and white halftone postcard of the First United Methodist Church, located at 300 East Houston St., in Marshall, Texas, photographed around 1909. The building was constructed in 1861. It is a front gable brick masonry structure in a Greek revival style with a bell tower and steeple on top of the front gable. The entrance porch has four tapered square brick columns surmounted by a pediment. The view shows the facade and the east side of the building with stained glass windows in the east wall and its raised basement windows visible. There is a two-story house with double gallery to the left of the church behind two trees. At the bottom of the image, printed in black is the title, "First M. E. Church, South, Marshall, Texas." There is a postmark dated March 16, 1910 on the back. The card was addressed to Mrs. Walter U. Buttrell, Longview, Texas.
