Souvenir medal from the world's fair held in Paris, featuring a number of symbolic images. On one side, there is a woman seated beneath a tree, holding out a laurel crown to a man at left; at the bottom is an image of the exposition space with the Eiffel Tower. Text around the image says "Exposition Universelle" around the edge and the year, 1889, near the center. The other side has an angel blowing a trumpet in a tree, below a star, with her arm around the bust of a person wearing laurels (at right). Text at left says "Republicque Française" and a decorative box below has the name "F. U. Munson."
