Interview with Navy veteran Frank Curre Jr. The interview includes Curre's personal experiences about joining the Navy, boot camp, being aboard the battleship USS Tennessee during the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor, and his subsequent experiences in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Additionally, Curre talks about pre-war shipboard life and training exercises, his activities during the attack on Pearl Harbor, aftermath of the attack, his transfer to the yard minesweeper YMS-102 at Bremerton, Washington, operation around Midway Island, his transfer to the escort carrier Petrof Bay, the Battle of Leyte Gulf, kamikaze attacks, the Okinawa campaign, and continued combat against kamikazes.

Interview with Mary Schandua, a riveter for the Boeing Company during World War II. Florence Reeves also participates in the interview. She began working for the Boeing Company as a riveter in Seattle after she married her husband John, who was in the service. She assembled wing sections on aircraft.

Interview with James William "Bill" Harrison, a serviceman in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He explains how he joined the navy in San Diego without going to boot camp. He worked on an oil tanker that shipped out to Pearl Harbor a month after the attack there and transported fuel out of San Diego to various ships at sea. He was then transfered to Admiral Nimitz's public relations department. There he and two others wrote stories about the action in the Pacific theater, particularly about the Battle of Midway. They also contributed to a radio show and worked with the national press corps. He then worked at the Naval Air Station in Seattle before traveling to Hilo, Hawaii to meet with soldiers who had returned from Tarawa. In Texas, he attended officer training school and college at Southwestern University. After the war ended, he studied at the University of Texas and University of Oklahoma for law school. He recalls an incident in which his office released a story about a cat that had kittens on board a cruiser; they reported this good news from the Pacific prior to the Battle of Midway. Interview with Laura Nevada Weger, U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class, Cryptologic Technician, and Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran, for the Women Veterans Oral History Project. The interview includes Weger's personal experiences of childhood, her family history of military service, reasons for joining the Navy, reaction from her family to her enlistment, training as a cryptological technician, first duty station at Whidbey Island, Washington. Weger talks about the lack of women in unit, rate of pregnancy among unit, sexual assault in the Navy, being a sexual assault victim advocate at SPAWAR, Chantilly, Virginia, deployments aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, the Shellback Ceremony and hazing, her activity in veterans groups, the civilian reaction to service, reflections on military service, her second duty station at SPAWAR, Chantilly, Virginia, and advice for future female service members. Additionally, she includes her thoughts on the lifting of combat exclusion ban on women, working at a joint command, integrated barracks, women on submarine duty, the Naval medical system, and her grandmother's service in the Women's Army Corp during the Korean War. The interview includes an appendix with photographs and a list detailing Weger's military career.
