Photograph of three year-old locust trees in an abandoned badly gullied land. The farmer built the check dams in the gullies, bought the trees and planted them shortly before the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) moved into that area. The area is rapidly becoming stabilized. OK-6346.

Peanuts have been pulled and stacked and shocked and the hegari has been headed. Hergari stalks will be left in the field to control blowing during the winter. Mr. W. A. Hardesty, shown here, said he he planned to follow the peanuts with a winter cover crop of rye grass or vetch and oats. Field is tempered. OK-8413.
