The Frazier Home
The Frazier Home on 44. E. Sycamore, just near the Alliance Mill. Built in approximately 1892, the house was a two-story frame house. William and Fannie A. Frazier are standing on the front porch. According to an article in the September 1, 1892, of the Denton County News, Mr. Frazier had just built the house and noted that he was the (locomotive) engineer on the "Dallas & Henrietta".

Minnis, however, we think it is more likely that the photograph should be identified as Minnis, Madden & Co. and the time period should be around 1892-1894. This is based on the fact that the people listed on the back are Minnis & Madden and Curtis is not listed. This program lists the closing exercises and performances during the closing exercises of Denton City High School on May 18, 1894. It is printed in blue ink on creme paper. A partially visible watermark says, "Monona Linen F-". We presume the "F" stands for Fabric. Monona Linen Fabric paper was sold and produced at that time.

This card contains advertisements for early Denton commerce. The advertisements include banks, saloons, grocers, drug stores, hardware stores, galleries, hotels, restaurants, and feed stores. We believe the card was created sometime in the year of 1895 based on the advertisement for The Denton Hotel which said it was the successor to Pierce House. We found no other newspaper advertisements for Pierce House after February of 1895.
