Interview with B. B. Gunn, a former member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from Mart, Texas. Gunn discusses growing up in a family of tenant farmers, joining the CCC, assignment to a camp at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, its organization, building a telephone line, daily routine, recreation, religious services, desertion, and dam construction. In appendix are two newspaper clippings mentioning CCC history and a letter to Mr. Gunn.

Interview with African American North Texas State University alumnus James Gayle. The interview included Gayle's personal experiences of childhood, playing basketball at Fort Worth's all-black Terrell High School, attending North Texas and enrolling in the ROTC program, and his experience as a boarder in "Shack Town" neighborhood of Denton. Gayle talks about the comparison of race relations in Artesia, New Mexico, and Waco and Forth Worth, Texas, the "neutral" stance of NT administration toward black students and the "self-support" system among students, as well as his relationships with professors and white students, and his perception of what he gained from his NT experience.

Interview with Joseph Vivian concerning his experiences before, during, and after his employment in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. Vivian worked at a camp in Ratcliff, Texas (Company 1803).

Interview with Jack Brown, a United States Navy veteran from Waco, Texas, regarding his experiences and memories of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor of December 7, 1941 while stationed at the Marine Barracks there.

Interview with Eddie Bernice Johnson, nurse and Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives from Dallas, who discusses her experiences and personal views as a member of the Sixty-third Legislature. She also talks about her early life in a segregated society, her early political activities, her campaign for the Texas House of Representatives in 1972, the Black Caucus, the Women's Caucus, reform legislation, appropriations, personal legislation, her altercation with Comptroller Robert Calvert, and she comments on Governor Dolph Briscoe.

Interview with W. H. Peters, a United States Navy veteran from McGregor, Texas, regarding his experiences and memories of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor of December 7, 1941 while aboard the light cruiser USS Detroit.

Interview with Hazel Harvey Peace, a teacher and civil rights activist from Fort Worth, Texas, who was instrumental in expanding education for black citizens of the area. Peace discusses her parents, her education, becoming a teacher, working at various institutions over her life, books and entertainment growing up, her roll as a mentor, Fort Worth neighborhoods and the black communities, contemporary problems with integration and racism, admired leaders, her plays, her faith, and more.

Interview with Zan W. Holmes, Jr., a clergyman and community leader, concerning his experiences as a resident of Hamilton Park, Texas during the 1950s and 1960s. Holmes discusses his youth and adolescent years in Waco, segregated education, college at Huston-Tillotson (1952-1956), entry to Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University (1956), organizing the Hamilton Park Methodist Church and his partnership there, his home in Hamilton Park, his political activities, church youth programs, zoning problems, and Hamilton Park School and desegregation.

Interview with Zan Holmes Jr., a Methodist pastor and resident of Hamilton Park from Waco, Texas. Holmes discusses his family background, education, seminary, moving to Hamilton Park, building a church, political activity, local development and related issues, youth activities, the schools, and desegregation.
