Cocktail dress of black silk brocade with a wide portrait collar and plunging V'ed back neckline; short kimono sleeves cut with wedge shaped gussets; centerback opening secured with five tailored buttonholes and five covered shank buttons supplemented with two hook&eyes at the point of the back neckline; hook&eyes are disguised with a drooping looped bow; horizontal empire seam at bust level with draped fullness over the bust; semi-full, bell shaped, knee-length skirt with deep, turned, bound hem; skirt is darted through the waist, boned inner bodice/bustier of matching black silk brocade; centerback zipper closure with a black silk faille placket secured at the top and bottom with hook&eyes; inner bodice is lined in black silk crepe chiffon; black grosgrain waist stay secured with a single hook&eye; attached, gored, knee-length, black horsehair petticoat with black silk lining. B) Evening dress of gold brocade with white mink fur trim at the neckline and hips. Full length with princess seaming and slight A-line to skirt. Scooped back. Fur trim around neckline and back goes over shoulders to form straps of dress. Center back zipper. Belt of fur at hips closes in back the 3 covered hook & eyes. Skirt lined in white tulle. Bodice is boned and lined in white netting and closes in back with hook & eyes. Train is rectangular in shape and gathers into smocking where it attaches to back of dress with snaps and hook & eyes. Floor length. Unlined.

Squared ruffle collar of same. B) Skirt of black silk crepe. Slightly flared at bottom with small train in back. Back zipper closure with two hook & eyes on waistband. Half-lined.

Cocktail dress of black silk taffeta with black trim. Low V-neck front and back, elbow length sleeves. Extremely narrow foundation skirt in "Hobble Skirt" style, with pleated overskirt caught up underneath. The front is decorated with cord decoration, the back is plain. No label found, attrib from Donor's description.

Dress in sheath style of navy blue linen. Neckline is high and straight in front with wide, scooped back with 3/4" shoulder straps. Center back zipper with hook & eye. Lined in navy organdy. Designer's label at center back seam near hem: "Christian Dior - New York, Inc." Retailer's label at center back seam near hem: "Neiman-Marcus" With accompanying stole, double sided with one side of matching navy linen and reverse of green linen. Open ends; 16" wide.

Bracelet length, set-in sleeves. Lined in dark gray silk. Designer's label at inside center back neckline: "Made in France / Boutique / Christian Dior / Paris " and stamped on label: "10118" B) Dress. Sleeveless, with shallow, wide rounded neckline. Natural waist with an A-line over skirt and with under skirt of dark gray silk and 7" hemline of matching wool creating a tiered or multi-layer look. Center back zipper with hook & eye. Skirt lined in dark gray silk and bodice lined in black organza with black grosgrain ribbon petersham and black silk noil support structure.

Cropped jacket of black silk faille. Rounded neckline with rectangular cut-out at throat/upper bust with inset panels of white silk faille on either side. Double breasted with three (of original 6) circular white buttons at front; closure supplemented with two large covered snaps. Long sleeves with nonfunctioning matching button at hem. Lined in cream silk crepe. Designer's label at inside right opening: Christian Dior - New York, Inc. Cocktail dress of muted pink silk organza over a layer of beige taffeta with ivory Schiffli lace embroidery in a floral motif. Bodice is strapless with horizontal pleating below bust and top portion is trimmed with self-embroidered lace and lattice, and has scalloped, embroidered trim at neckline; boning within. Full, wide skirt is gathered into waistline and falls to below knee-length. Layers of stiffened tulle support the wide silhouette; bottom of skirt is embellished with self-embroidered lace and lattice with vined flowers trailing up to the mid-skirt. Hem has scalloped, embroidered trim. Left side zipper closure. Designer Label: Cotillion Formals

Hat of black wool felt. Formed as a high-crowned hat with floppy brim, the domed crown has concave sides held in part by wide black silk satin ribbon with bow and trailing ends at back. Brim is wired and irregularly undulating at rim and is trimmed with black felted wool ribbon. Inside lined with black satin, with inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband. Small stitched mark on inner band indicates front of hat, and small applied cream ribbon bow indicates back. Designer's label inside crown: "Lilly / Daché / Paris New York". The label is very large, and part of "Paris" and all of "York" are cut-off.

Dress of charcoal grey silk and cotton textured fabric; body fullness controlled with bows under bust and tapered to narrow hemline

Day dress of black and grey tweed. Tea-length; short sleeves. Two large black buttons in front above zipper.

Cocktail dress of pale yellow silk chiffon with orange and yellow rose print and attached flowers. Sleeveless; 3/4 length. Fitted bodice has outer layer of chiffon with front rounded neckline and is cut to low V in back with cascade of silk and chiffon flowers at right shoulder and down right side of back. Skirt is full with three layers of chiffon; top layer of same print with next under layer of cream and bottom layer of yellow.
