Black and white photo-postcard of the Marshall Country Club, Marshall, Texas, probably taken in the 1920s. A grassy area is in the foreground and a stream, lake, or water feature runs from left to right, with a narrow wooden bridge crossing it and what looks like a small shack on the opposite bank at the foot of the bridge. Beyond that is the club house in a Craftsman bungalow style, with a side gable roof. The multiple windows on the section next to the door indicate that part of the building was probably a screened area. There are multiple trees along the banks of the water. At the bottom of the image in white letters is the title, "Marshall Country Club, Marshall, Texas" on the left, and on the right "Howard's Stud, Marshall, Texa." There is no postmark or message on the back of the card. Stamped in small letters on the left edge of the card: "Pub. by Photo & Art Postal Card Co., 444 Broadway, N.Y."

Color tinted halftone postcard of the city hall, Marshall, Texas, 110 E. Houston St. The view shows the façade and east side of the building, which is on a slope. It has three stories and a basement. Three men in suits stand on the front sidewalk. A telephone pole is on the corner. Printed on the left top of the image is the title "City Hall, Marshall, Texas." A year is not legible in the postmark on the back, but handwritten at the top of the message is the date Nov. 17, 1908. A stylized "A H Co" is printed in the top left corner of the back. The card is addressed to Mrs. Homer Isett, Chanute, Kansas.

Postcard of the Harrison County Courthouse in Marshall, Texas. A small tree stands in the foreground. The top right corner of the image bears a postmark from Dallas, Texas, dated June 27, 1908. The courthouse was designed by architects J. Riely Gordon and Cornelius Grandbery Lancaster in 1899 and completed in 1901. Printed along the left edge of the message space: "Published by Novelty Post Card Co., Kansas City, Mo."

Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Marshall, Texas
Black and white photo-postcard of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located at 414 N. Washington Ave., in Marshall, Texas, taken sometime in the 1940s. The building was constructed in 1932. The view is taken from the southwest and shows the facade and the south side of the building. The two-story brick building with raised basement has two entrances on either side of a central section with a front facing gable roof. Stairs lead to each entry on the main level. The central portion has stained-glass windows on first and second floor levels. An automobile is parked in front of the building. Bushes have been planted on either side of the entrance stairs and along the south side of the building. At the bottom of the image in white letters is the title, "Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Marshall, Texas." The Marshall Church of Christ now uses the building. There is a postmark dated Sep 23, 1942 on the back. The card, signed by Nell King, was addressed to Bobby Nelson, Omaha, Nebraska.

First Presbyterian Church, Marshall, Tex., M 600
Black and white photo-postcard of the First Presbyterian Church in Marshall, Texas, taken sometime in the 1950s. The main building was constructed in 1884 in an English Arts and Crafts parish church style. The main gable-roofed structure has a picturesque tower entrance porch projecting on the right. Decorative shingles can be seen on the mid-level of the entrance tower and in the ends of the gables, and turned wood elements decorate the entrance porch. Bushes and trees surround the building. To the right of the church is the two-story brick Sunday School building, constructed in 1915 in a neoclassical style. A stop sign is visible in the lower left corner of the image, and a street light is visible on the right of the image. At the bottom of the image in white letters is the title, "First Presbyterian Church, Marshall, Tex. M 600" There is no postmark or message on the back of the card. Printed between the message and address section: "All Rights reserved -- The L. L. Cook Co., Milwaukee."

Trinity Episcopal Church, Marshall, Tex.
Black and white photo-postcard of Trinity Episcopal Church in Marshall, Texas, located at the northeast corner of N. Grove St. and W. Houston St. The cross-gable brick structure has a large corner entrance in a bell tower. There are three pointed-arch Gothic-style windows in the wall to the left of the tower. Vines are growing on two corners of the tower and bushes have been planted around the base of the building. Leafless trees are standing between the sidewalk and the street and a fire hydrant and telephone pole are on the corner and a street light extends from the telephone pole. More telephone poles continue down W. Houston St. and the courthouse is visible in the distance At the bottom of the image in white letters is the title, "First Presbyterian Church, Marshall, Tex. [Letter from Lewis McCutchan to Mary McAllister McCutchan and Marion Sims McCutchan - June 28, 1922]
Letter from Lewis McCutchan to his parents Mary and Marion Sims McCutchan discussing his work at the Harrison County Y.M.C.A. Camp for Boys, Taylor's Island, Karnack, Texas. He describes his duties, including being in charge of the cook's tent and dining hall. He mentioned that they went for a motor boat ride, and that it was his first. He comments on the boys' opinions of him as being strict, and his opinion that many of the boys had had very little discipline at home. The letter is written on camp stationery that includes a halftone image of camp staff and boys standing in a double line.

Hand-drawn map on card stock showing Australia, New Zealand, and New Guinea. It was drawn by Mary McAllister in Marshall, Texas, for a school assignment. She signed it in the lower left corner and dated it May 5, 1893. Written in pencil in a different hand on the right side of the map is the grade 99 1/2. McAllister was born in June 1889 and would have been 12 years old when she drew the map. On the other side of the card is lithographed: "From M. A. Fine Merchant Tailoring, Sample No." with the number 2959 stamped next. Printed below that are names of different types of clothing with blank lines where the cost of constructing them in the sample fabric could have been filled in. Mary McAllister has written her name twice in pencil on that side of the card, and some additional letters are written on the top, possibly by her. The upper left and lower right corners of the card have been broken off.
