Hill advises of the progress of his coffee business stating, "As things appear today, there is justification for believing that it will be but a short time before reasonable rewards are in their shaping." He confides, "We may or may not be able to obtain contracts for furnishing various government projects with coffee extract—we will operate henceforth in a secret manner." Hill handwrites postscript down left side of page acknowledging omissions and typographical errors which he "will not attempt to correct".

Hill outlines his business itinerary and discribes the bad effects that the war in Korea is having on many businesses. The reverse side includes a postscript informing Carswell of Hill's immediate travel itinerary and a reminder of his Los Angeles address.

Hill confirms they are now operating in New Mexico and should be able to put the operation on a paying basis regardless of idiotic political doings, that the LLIHEDRA CORPORATION will hold controlling interest and mentions the use of the thousand dollars that Carswell gave to him. Handwritten postscript at left side of page expresses appreciation for the inclusion of Miss Hatchett and gives regards.

The letter reports that President Anderson requested that a copy of his address "The American Pattern" be sent in reply to the letter from Carswell requesting a definition of Americanism.

Kirk advises Carswell of the enclosed correspondence and a $500 Postal Savings Certificate received from the California Authorities issued in favor of Subject A-9808-A. She expresses her appreciation to Carswell for his assistance and advises him that nothing was said by California regarding the tools belonging to subject. Kirk requests from Gordon the discharge date of the case from parole of Subject A-9803. She advises Gordon that the inquiry came from the parole chairman at Abilene, Texas and that the chairman would like to know if Gordon's office would consider a Pardon and Restoration of Citizenship before the end of Subject's term.

O'Brien replies to a letter from Christian by advising of California requirements for a subject serving a mandatory life sentence. Subject No. 17095 must apply for Executive Clemency from the Governor by writing to and supplying required information to Mr. Joseph Babich who will supply the forms to make application. A second letter is duplicate copy.

Ryan, Associate Warden, to Fred Finsley, Chief State Parole Officer, Sacramento, California dated February 26, 1951 (copy to T. N. Carswell). Ryan advises Finsley of a letter written by Subject 9803-A and approved by T. N. Carswell in which Subject requests the return of his U. S. Postal Notes. Ryan advises of the transfer of the notes to the Bureau of Paroles, therefore, he refers the letter to Finsley's office for attention and disposition.

Sandefer advises that he went by Mare Island which always makes him think of Carswell and World War One. He discusses his humorous list of qualifications that he gave to Jake [J. D. Sandefer, Jr.] regarding recommendations for the new President of their "ole' school" [Hardin-Simmons University] noting he [Elwin Lloyd Skiles] might be the best since Prexy [J. D. Sandefer, Sr.]. He advises that he intends to write to Skiles and offer his help but that he is like his dad and "not in the ass kissing business" so he will wait to see if it will be appreciated. He requests that he tell Uncle Johnnie Roach that while he was at LBJ's Ranch when playing Austin he ran into someone from HSU who's sister married T. J. Bailey of Ozona.
