He discusses their situation in that the only job he has found is digging ditches at the seminary, that he and his wife both have been promised jobs at the Chicago Pneumatic Oil Tool Co. but the company is on strike, and he asks for prayers. He advises of his love for the subjects and teachers in the seminary and expresses his appreciation for Carswell's kindness and friendship.
