The Trader Company was started in 1909 by the Trader Compress Company of Fort Worth, Texas. There are thirteen acres under shed with a storage capacity of 50,000 bales. Two presses of 100 bales each per hour. Altus is the center of the cotton belt and has three railroads. The Trader Compress is largest in the United States by volume of cutting. Mr. B. L. Anderson is President of the concern. Mr. R. M. Payne is superintendent of Altus Office."
