Letter from John Sayles to E. D. Bloxsom stating that the tax collector has misunderstood the acreage of the survey. Sayles states he has written the tax collector and will notify Bloxsom when he receives response.

Sayles desires Abilene to be named as a point on the extension in a proposed consolidation bill.

Letter from Henry Sayles to M. R. Haley stating that the M. K. & T. Railroad will not be building any railroads in Texas currently. There was litigation brought by the state to the M. K. & T. Railroad to forfeit their charters.

Letter from Henry Sayles to F. W. Hughes discussing the consolidation of the Texas Central and Katy railroads. He states few are willing to give consideration to the business of others or to the public. Sayles asks Hughes to take over the situation in Abilene with Trumbull.

Letter from T. M. M. Campbell to E. P. Ripley discussing men who complained to him about the railroad. Ripley uses eminent domain to take the railroad from Texas to states on the Pacific coast. Campbell states he will intervene if necessary and will not allow this to happen. Ripley's policy is considered intolerable. Campbell also mentions enacting laws that disallow railroad companies from using the policy of eminent domain to clear the way for their railway. Campbell offers to meet Ripley in Texas to discuss the matter.
