Chittick, recorded in the letter as 'Mrs. Thomas Shithick' regarding Santo Tomas Internment Camp internee William Chittick, recorded in the letter as 'William Alfred Shithick'. Letter contains transcribed message to mother from internee broadcast on Radio Tokyo. Letter also contains note dated July 8, 1943 to Mrs. Larsen from Cecelia McKie that asks Mrs. Larsen to forward the message to the P.O.W.'s family, as the letter was returned in the mail. She asks Mrs. Larsen for Canadian maps, as she is now hearing messages broadcast from Canadian prisoners.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene Machine Company, from R. D. Hill, Bend, Oregon, dated July 28, 1950. Hill explains that an enclosed C/C [cashier's check] is to reimburse for the rental on P. O. Box 1032. Hill outlines his business travel itinerary and monologues on politics advising that the recent "hostile involvings" may retard business progress. "It might be that we presently have a fully DEVELOPED Kingfish 'Huey Long' set-up?" Hill handwrites postcript at bottom of page sending regards to all. Notation at top of page indicates a reply by Carswell on October 17, 1950.

From abstract: Precipitation in the Newberry caldera is nearly in balance with evaporation, evapotranspiration, and and streamflow. A small surplus of water, estimated to be in the range 2,500 to 6,500 acre-feet, is available annually for recharge to deep aquifers beneath the caldera floor.
