Invitation from Dr Chng, PASC (Psychology Advocates for Social Change) is a registered UNT student organization in 2018. PASC has a tradition of organizing and hosting the Diversity Symposium every year or every other year to promote the multicultural awareness among both graduate and undergraduate students in the Psychology Department. This year’s Diversity Symposium was held on March 26, 2024 between 3pm and 5 pm in Terrill hall, with “Intersectionality” as the theme, and Regents Professor Emeritus, Dr Chwee-Lye Chng as our speaker,

Panel presentation: Providing access to Spanish language resources online by Julie Judkins, Jaimi Parker, and Maia Gibbons. In Fall 2020, the University of North Texas Special Collections department initiated a pilot project to translate English language finding aids and digital exhibits into Spanish, to provide greater accessibility. Jaimi Parker and Julie Judkins, will outline methods used for translation and provide advice to institutions undertaking translation projects of their own, regardless of available resources. A video that documents four milestones in open heart surgery originally performed at the University of Minnesota hospital: Atrial Septal Defect (1952), Ventricular Septal Defect (1954), Tetralogy of Fallot (1954), and Ebstein's Anomaly (1964). The video features an interview with C. Walton Lillehei, Ph.D., M.D., Professor of Surgery at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, and archival footage of the procedures.

Nichelle Nichols (Lieutenant Uhura) wants you to work on the Space Shuttle Enterprise in this government produced film from 1977. Nichelle Nichols played communications officer Lieutenant (later, Commander) Uhura aboard the USS Enterprise in the Star Trek television series (1966–1969), working to recruit diverse astronauts to NASA, including women and ethnic minorities.

An oral history with actor and playwright Michael Turner Cline who was an eyewitness to the 1979 Village Station raid in Dallas. Other topics discussed include Cline's upbringing in Highland Park, his family members, and his entertainment career in New York City and Los Angeles. Dr. Wesley Phelps provides background information on anti-gay discrimination in Dallas and Fort Worth. The interview was recorded with Zoom teleconferencing software.

Friday Night in the Coliseum is a short film featuring wrestling performances recorded at the Sam Houston Coliseum, in Houston, Texas, along with interviews with audience members and wrestling promoter Paul Boesch. The film features many wrestlers who were well-known in Houston, including The Crusher, Nick Kozak, Red Bastien, Dory Funk, Stan Stasiak, Johnny Valentine, Thunderbolt Patterson and Wild Bull Curry. The creation of this film was supported by a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, however, the film never aired on television.

Video of a panel on LGBT Issues Involving People of Color. Dr. John Allen introduces the event and speakers for the event held in Willis Library. Two of the speakers used a slideshow presentation, individually called "No Sex Please, We're Asians: Cultural Influences on Asian-American Sexualities" and "Y-B-AA-SGL-NGI-Q-TS-DL-B-MSM: The Alphabet Soup of a Double (Triple) Minority". Dr. Chwee-Lye Chng is first, followed by Dr. Gilda Garcia, and lastly M. Jai Makokha.

Video recording of a NT Scene segment about Dr. Kenneth Lavender, bibliographer, curator and head of the Rare Book Room in the University of North Texas' Willis Library. Dr. Lavender established the Rare Book and Texana Collection - its purpose is to preserve rare and special materials for research and cultural heritage. Together with Richard Himmel, they discuss the O. S. Levis and Frederic Remington exhibition: Two Vision of the American West that was on display from October 10th through December 15th, 1988.

Video recording of an amateur production about the Italian American experience in Texas that appears to have been created for the fourth Italian Symposium of Texas held in Bryan, Texas in September 1984. North Texas State University (now UNT) professor Dr. Samuel J. Marino introduces the production and references Texas Woman's University professor of Government, Cavaliere Valentine J. Belfiglio's 1983 book, The Italian Experience in Texas, which this production was based on. Dr. Marino traveled to Texas towns that historically had Italian communities and filmed interviews with residents, as well as scenery and exteriors of local Italian owned businesses. Dr. Marino narrates the video from a script he wrote with Alfonso Nicosia. The visuals are of a poor quality and are often overexposed and blurry.

It includes visuals of portraits, monuments, statues, busts, and books that depict Christopher Columbus. It was overlaid with music from the Italian Symposium of Texas and narration explaining who the artists, and writers were along with a history of Columbus.

Amateur production about the Italian American experience in Texas that may have been created for the Italian Symposium of Texas in September 1984. This video is the unedited original shots for the completed "Italians in Texas" documentary film. North Texas State University professor Dr. Samuel J. Marino was the lead for the piece, which was based off of Texas Woman's University professor of Government, Valentine J. Belfiglio's 1983 book, "The Italian Experience in Texas". Drs. Belfiglio and Marino traveled to Texas towns that historically had Italian communities and filmed interviews with residents, as well as scenery. At various intervals the video cuts out and goes to a blue screen or a screen with colored bars. Two of these times, one at about three minutes in and then again at the end of the footage, footage from television are played. The first is a scene from "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" and later is the AT&T logo, a McDonald's commercial, and a preview for a miniseries titled "The Last Days of Pompeii" that is voiced-over with a news announcement. The main piece though is made up of various takes and clips that went into making the Italians in Texas film.

Video recording of an interview with James J. Muro, Acting Vice President for Development at North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas). The interview takes place in what appears to Muro's office on the UNT campus. Muro, a native of Pennsylvania, discusses his upbringing, his family and the demographics of his hometown, which had a large immigrant population of Slovaks, Poles, and Italians. Muro's father emigrated from Sicily, Italy at the age of 5 or 6. His mother, the daughter of immigrants, was of partial Italian heritage. Muro's father worked as a coal miner and instilled a strong work ethic in his son. Muro talks about discrimination related to his identity as an Italian Catholic that he experienced on the East Coast. He claims he not experience any discrimination when he moved to Texas. Before the interview begins, there are brief scenes of the UNT campus, including Fouts Field.

Video recording of the Columbus Quincentenary featuring the Niña, Pinta, and Santa Maria on Galveston Island. The festivities were held over five days, March 25-29, in 1992. The video includes shots of the replica Niña, Pinta, and Santa Maria caravels, a rigging display by the 'crew' of the ships, and a shot of the beach from where Samuel Marino stayed for the trip. There is also footage of a speech and presentation by Vicki Winick - the Galveston Mayor, a speech from Texas Chairman of the Jubilee Commission Nick Lampson, and video of the presentation of an award to the Spain '92 foundation members.

Recording of the funeral service for James Patrick Wiseman, an attorney who worked several civil rights cases in the United States as the assistant Texas attorney general and lawyer for the ACLU. It opens with an image of Wiseman and the dates, December 22, 1948-January 31, 1998. The service includes prayers, performances, and speakers remembering Wiseman. The video ends with the same image and dates.

Recording of the 2017 "State of the University" address by the UNT president, highlighting programs and action plans for further improvement to the university and grants and funding received. Key points for success in these areas are building the research opportunities, the 60x30 state plan, recruitment and retention, and partnerships.

Stories include: the City of Denton's Sesquicentennial Celebration, UNT Archive's "Treasures of UNT" exhibit, the Bear Parade at the Emily Fowler branch of the Denton Public Library, and UNT's 15th Annual Conference on Parent Education.
