This thesis considers the novels of Gregorio Lopez Y Fuentes.

This study will attempt to show the influence of certain rulers on the construction and design of furniture during the years 1300 to 1830.

This problem has been concerned with, first, the collection of sixteen species of plants belonging to Cactaceae family; second, the drying of these and the extraction of the oleoresins thereof; third, the determination of the extent to which these substances inhibit the growth of ten gram-positive and ten gram-negative bacterial organisms; and fourth, a determination of the possible utilization of these extracts a prophylactic or chemotherapeutic agents.

This study was conducted from March 3, through June 2, 1951, in order to determine to what extent pathogenic bacteria were entering the Trinity River between East Fort Worth, Texas and South Dallas, Texas, from municipal sewage disposal plants.

This study will cover the period between 1861 and 1865. It will cover within that period of time, the technical and historical advance of the navy through the Civil War. The technical approach will cover the advancements in design, engineering, and armament from the beginning of hostilities to its end, and contrast those advancements with those of the period immediately preceding them and immediately after it, while the historical approach will cover the main engagements of the war and the results of the technical advances. The study will also cover the advancement and growth of the Confederate States Navy, and the effect which the marine designs of that navy had on the designs of the rival United States Navy.

The problem set forth in this study is to determine the relationship of certain factors to the popularity of students in the eighth grade of the Junior High School at Ozona, Texas. The factors to be considered in this study are as follows: 1. The socio-economic status of the parents; 2. Each of the factors measured by the California Test of Personality; 3. The intelligence quotient; 4. Scholastic achievement; 5. The length of family residence in the community; 6. Physical attractiveness of the students as evaluated by three teachers; 7. Athletic ability as evaluated by the physical education teachers; 8. Conduct in the classroom as evaluated by the home room teacher.

The purpose of this study is to determine how adequately Class A schools of Region Three of Texas are conforming to certain standards in business education. A comparative survey of business administration programs has been made, and the programs were evaluated by standards formulated by the Texas State Department of Education and recognized investigators in this field. After careful consideration of all the data available for this study, the writer made conclusions and recommendations with regard to the business education programs in the schools of Region Three.

This thesis describes the theoretical results of mercury-sensitized photochemical reactions of isopropyl benzene and methylcyclohexane. The reactions are carried out and the results are analyzed.

The purpose of this study is to show how much of the thiamin content of the noon and evening meals is contributed by meats and meat dishes which appear on the cafeteria menu, as well as the thiamin contribution of the breakfast meal to the total daily intake.

A continuous cloud chamber would be a valuable asset to laboratory work in nuclear and atomic physics. For this reason the construction and investigation of a continuously sensitive diffusion cloud chamber has been undertaken. It is the purpose of this paper to report the design and operating characteristics of such a chamber.

The purpose of this study is to present the appraisal of the Los Fresnos Elementary School in terms of the criteria in the Handbook for Self-Appraisal and Improvement of Elementary Schools as made by a committee of twelve teachers of that school. This study is designed to present information on the supervision of business education as revealed through research and personal observations. Included in this study of state supervision of business education are such phases as proposed qualifications and duties of a state supervisor of business education, a brief study of supervisory programs now in effect in other states, the need for a state supervisor in Texas, and a proposed program for supervision of business education in Texas.

This study considers the equipment needed for the art rooms of the three junior high schools of Corpus Christi, Texas. It discusses the special problems encountered by the teacher-committee that had to determine the minimum list of tools and other equipment necessary to carry out a well-rounded art program.

The present study explores some of the materials native to the Texas Gulf Coast between Corpus Christi and Beaumont relative to their adaptability to weaving. The problem is three-fold: first, to collect and identify the indigenous materials which might prove suitable for weaving; second, to determine the range of uses which each might serve in a weaving program; and third, to test further each selected specimen by making a sample into a finished woven product.

It is the primary purpose of this study to determine any differences in the achievement abilities and teacher ratings of the boys and girls of equal intelligence quotients in the fifth, sixth, and seventh grades of the Alvord Elementary School, Alvord, Texas. A secondary purpose is to make a study of the environmental background of a number of pupils in order to determine certain other factors that might be considered as producing some influence upon the success or failure of the boy or girl.

The purpose of this study was to make an analysis of the program of health, physical education, and recreation for girls in the Gainesville High School, Gainesville, Texas. The aim was to develop a program that will function in the lives of the pupils. In order to provide a basis for the improvement of the existing program, an effort was made to evaluate the program for the purpose of improving the health of the pupils and the quality of the services rendered by the school in the areas of health, physical education, and recreation. Finally, the program was evaluated in the light of certain criteria that were set up as guiding principles.

The automobile dealership is one of the more important types of small business. The operation of such a business is an integral part of the economy of the country, and conditions existing in the automobile field are usually fairly representative of those in other types of small business; therefore, the general personnel policies of an automobile dealership are basically similar to personnel policies of other small businesses in the distributive field. A study of personnel policies in this field will be of some use to anyone interested in the problems of small business.

The purpose of this investigation is to determine through routine checks the number of organisms present in the various raw ingredients used for the preparation of foods. The problem has consisted of, first, a determination of the total bacterial population by numbers; second, a determination of the incidence of colon bacteria in the samples examined; third, a determination of the presence of yeasts and molds; and fourth, an attempt to utilize this information obtained in judging the methods of handling the raw ingredients before they are used in the processing of foods.
