The sculpture depicts many figures, small and large. A large aged figure on hands and knees shelters several small standing figures. Other figures, in the larger scale, flank the head of the aged figure.

Headband of black felt draped and decorated with brightly multicolored plaid silk taffeta. Loop of plaid fabric in front held by large brass hatpin with head of three branches of three leaves each. Fedora hat of light grey felt. Rust red felt hatband knots in front with ends of knot extending across and folding under the brim. Crown folds to triangular points meeting at top and is trimmed in same rust red felt as hatband. Elastic band for securing hat to wearer's head. Beret of brown felt velour with arrows at each side trimmed with gold thread applique embellished with red and blue cabochons. Hatpin with small, round, black head. Inside crown stamped: "Genuine / Velour / Imported Fur" Size label on inside hatband: "22"

Evening ensemble in orange and taupe crepe. The sleeveless, full-length dress is of taupe crepe, and has a "V" neckline in front and a deep "V" in back. Around high waist is a wide band of orange crepe outlined in gold braid and oval simulated pearls. The band is heavily beaded in faux coral and turquoise beads in various patterns and floral motifs. The bodice of the dress gathers into the front of the band, and has a zipper and hook-and-eyes closure at left side. The Bolero jacket is of the orange crepe. The cropped jacket has a rounded neckline and long sleeves. The neckline, center front opening, and lower hem is heavily beaded to match the band on the dress, with added faux turquoise beading in floral forms on the front panels of the jacket. No labels in either garment.

Boy's coat of black and white herringbone tweed. Double breasted with notched lapel and 6 buttons; opening is reversible to be opened on left or right. Patch pockets at sides. Half belt across back. Lined from the waist up with dark gray flannel, and from the waist down with plaid flannel. Manufacturer's label: "Ess Kay"

Coat of cream colored broadtail. Hip- to 7/8-length. Long sleeves with wide cuffs trimmed in brown mink. Detachable collar of brown mink with 4 bands of brown mink, two per side, which snap at collar (3 snaps) and hang down at front. Center front closure, which fastens with double-strand ribbon belt from interior at right to loop on left edge of coat. Fully lined in cream silk, with applied silk monogram quilted to lining: "RYL". Retailer's label at inside back collar: "Bergdorf / Goodman / Fifth Avenue / at 58th Street"

Girl's dress of mint green polka dot cotton lawn. White lace-trimmed peter pan collar. Short puffed sleeves. Fitted bodice is trimmed with two vertical rows of lace and black velvet; bow of matching black velvet at neckline. Hemline trimmed in white lace and has two black velvet bows on front at sides. Center back closure of two hook & eyes.
