Photograph of Franklin County Courthouse in Mount Vernon, TX. A wide paved road sits in front of the courthouse while a narrower one runs past the building's left side. The green lawn around the courthouse is occupied by tall green trees and small bushes, and is enclosed by a sidewalk. At the left end of the sidewalk, near the left edge of the photo, is a sign reading "Speed limit 30". The courthouse building is white and made of stone blocks, with an entrance shadowed by a large triangular pediment supported by four tall columns. The columns rest on short walls sitting on either side of a short set of stairs that lead from the sidewalk to the front doors of the courthouse. Running across the width of the building, under the entrance's columns, are two rows of windows set into white frames. One window occupies the center of the triangular pediment over the building's entrance. The roof of the courthouse is flat and has a white clocktower sitting at its center, which has black and white clockfaces set into the sides of its dome.
