Herrera gives Santoscoy details of the United States Supreme Court vs. Pete Hernandez (the case fighting against the practice of discrimination of Latin Americans from Grand & Petit juries, and as Grand jury commissioners) and the "glorious victory." Herrera tells Santoscoy, "I think you should print the whole decision in LULAC News for our posterity also giving credit to Carlos and Gus for their perseverance work and use of their own funds to the end that the Hernandez case be won." Herrera also tells Santoscoy that he will not be running for National President of LULAC as he plans to run for the Texas Legislature from Harris County. Herrera mentions in the letter the personal phone call from Senator Daniel Price announcing the Hernandez case victory.
