The type written letter reads: " 3/25/60 Dear Mrs. George: Found this in our files - - an aerial picture of your ranch. Thought maybe you'd like to have it. Regards, [signed] Donald B. Bryant, Editor - Gen. Mgr. The Herald-Coaster". An aerial photograph, 2000.048.007b, was enclosed with letter.

Photograph of Jean Kiger with enclosed letter 2000.042.009a. Kiger was associated with Mr. And Mrs. Albert Peyton George through the Houston Fat Stock Show and Livestock Exposition where Kiger exhibited George Ranch cattle. The graduation portrait of Kiger shows her dressed in her graduation cap and gown. The cap partially covers her shoulder length dark blonde hair. The photograph is secured in a tan folder. The interior of the folder secures the photograph with a matte. The matte has an embossed frame around the perimeter of the photo. Engraved in silver and centered below the portrait: "Wheat Studio". Image dimensions are approximately: 11 cm X 16.1 cm.

Many thanks for your efforts in my behalf on this matter and I will try my best to help you as time goes by. Should you want me to meet with you and Hilmar at the ranch I will be happy to do so. I have in mind doing a story on the cattle Hilmar has sold that are on feed at Eagle Lake and in turn made into barbecue for a man in El Campo. These are his personal cattle. We have 47 students for the school of knowledge at Valley Mills, from six states and Mexico, a turn out that is much better than we expected. Looks like this will be a successful venture.
