Davis writes that in the last five years the Institute has generated more than 1,400,000 in grant funds and has only grown more steadily with each passing year. Thus with the expansion of the program, Davis requests more space to continue their operations as their previous space has become overly crowded.

Davis and McCarter tell Sonnenberg that the Edward and Betty Marcus Foundation has made a three year grant of $225,000 to the NTIEVA, North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, completing the matching grant made by the Getty Center of Education in the Arts, and insures the five year operation Institute plan. However, since NTIEVA's projected budget exceeds the minimum they are going to continue to seek additional support to meet the demands for their current and future projects. Davis and McCarter continue to write that Jan Muhlert, Director of the Amon Carter Museum has agreed to chair the Advisory Committee for the Institute, a position that was vacated when E.A. Carmean resigned as Director of the Modern Art Museum. Enclosed on the letter are materials Davis and McCarter believe are interest to Sonnenberg. Materials not present with letter.
