Wright closes the letter with an appeal to Carswell to "be on hand―we need you."

The letter contains a notification by Collier of a meeting of the Board of Trustees which has been called by Mr. Haynes. Dinner will be served. He advises of the need of a resolution to dispose of property.

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, San Antonio, Texas from Millard A. Jenkens, D. D., Pastor, First Baptist Church, Abilene, Texas dated February 9, 1944. Jenkens acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Carswell, comments on the report made by Carswell on the Dallas meeting and expresses his relief that Carswell was made vice chairman since the work requires a "hard hitter". He comments on his name being off the list of active deacons and that he looks forward to the day when Carswell is back on the active list.

White advises Carswell that Jack Ross is now the Chairman of the Board. He advises parole is now under consideration for Subject 108,345 assuring Carswell that the letters from him and Warden E. T. Swenson are being considered.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, from Thomas B. White, Member, Board of Pardons and Paroles, Texas, dated February 25, 1955. White advises Carswell of the discharge date of June 9, 1956 for Subject 108,345 and of a review scheduled for March of 1955, "at which time we will give it our study and see what if anything we can do in this case".

Carswell advises the Board of an attached copy of the last required report from Subject OSP 22624. Subject OSP 22624 expresses his appreciation for his Discharge from Parole and discourses on his life and family situation since moving to Texas, the successes and the trials endured. He advises of his only fear being of the impact that his record might have on his son's ambitions to become an ensign in the U. S. Navy via an appointment to Annapolis. Subject 17671 [108,345] explains that Mrs. Breeding's misunderstanding with Carswell is resolved, advises of his impending transfer to the Texas Prison System and reports of Mr. Swenson's offer to write a letter to the warden at Huntsville.

Burkhart requests a response from Subject A-9803 on whether he intends to proceed or postpone the processing of the clemency application.

A letter addressed to the Warden, State Prison at Folsom, Folsom, California from parolee, with approval of T. N. Carswell, Parole Officer, dated February 21, 1951. Subject A 9803 makes a second request to the Warden to send his U. S. Postal notes.

A letter addressed to the Secretary of State, Austin, Texas, Att: Miss Pauline Kirk, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman Taylor County Parole Board, dated February 8, 1951. Carswell requests help from the State of Texas in the retrieval of carpentry tools and funds from the State of California belonging to Subject A 9803.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, from John Ben Shepperd, Secretary of State, Austin, Texas (by Pauline Kirk), dated February 27, 1951. Kirk advises Carswell of the enclosed correspondence and a $500 Postal Savings Certificate received from the California Authorities issued in favor of Subject A-9808-A. She expresses her appreciation to Carswell for his assistance and advises him that nothing was said by California regarding the tools belonging to subject. Typewritten on State of Texas Department of State letterhead bearing HAMMERMILL BOND watermark.

Byrnes, Supervising State Parole Officer), Sacramento 14, California, dated February 20, 1951. Finsley refers to an enclosed certificate sent for Subject A-9808-A advising of a balance of $2000 to be kept in trust.

A letter written to Dr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated February 3, 1941. Davis expresses his appreciation for the letter advising him of the support of Carswell's Senator for Dr. Bradfield's confirmation. Davis touches on an exciting event and promises that he will send a self-explanatory letter regarding "a calvacade of youth to Austin" requesting that Carswell get Abilene's support.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Thos. E. Roberts, Superintendent, Hendrick Home For Children, Abilene, Texas, dated Feburary 7, 1941. Roberts presents to Carswell the list of names of officers elected at a meeting held in Haskell: Montgomery, R. C., Couch, R. C., Williams, Rev. C. W., Short, Aubrey, Rule, Terry, Pierson, A. C. He notes there was a nice crowd and explains that R. C. Montgomery, who was elected Chairman, was many years earlier the Chairman of the first Local Option Campaign in Haskell.
