Davis complains about the lack of communication from Pastors after services are held in their churches, advises that their Executive Committee approved the plan that they had discussed with Dr. Jenkens when in Abilene and notes an enclosed check to Carswell for reimbursement for his Belton trip. In postscript, Davis requests Carswell's opinion regarding asking Merkel, Tuscola and Caps to join their field day at Abilene.

Carswell confirms commitments from fourteen churches for participation in the Field Day scheduled for March 8, advising Davis that the people are expecting to sign a petition to the President to ban manufacture and sale of alcoholic liquor and beer during war as a national defense measure.

Davis lists potential speakers for the Abilene field day suggesting that Carswell might secure Dr. White and a speaker from McMurry or ACC. He advises that Bishop Boaz has already agreed noting that last year Bro. Douglas Carver had requested Boaz.

Davis advises of the date set for the San Angelo field day to be in late March, that the date is a result of the current Wichita County work. He touts the Rio Grande Valley trip as his most profitable. Davis advises Carswell that he will write P. D. O'Brien but is unsure of success there noting that O'Brien has a hard situation in his church stating, "they have been able to intimidate every pastor they have had".

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Walter H. McKenzie, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated February 16, 1944. McKenzie advises Carswell of his election as a member of the Executive Committee which is comprised of 25 members. He requests that the committee members meet with bretheren from wet areas to work toward drying up wet spots with local option elections.

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Gunter Hotel and Plaza Hotel, San Antonio, Texas, from Walter H. McKenzie, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated February 2, 1944. McKenzie expresses his appreciation for the letter from Carswell dated January 28, and discusses the work before them, asking if Carswell would consider working as his assistant, office-man, stenographer and field worker.

Wight advises Carswell that there is no newspaper mat available. " I am very sorry, but I ain't pretty." The reverse side includes miscellaneous handwritten notes.

Carswell gives his opinion of what Landrum wrote in his column advising that the solution to the increase in crime is not in an enlarged police force but that they must find out the cause of the increase in crime, that until the cause is known their "attempts at a solution are at most but well intentioned 'shots in the dark'".

Landrum conceeds that it is true there are underlying causes for criminality in Dallas suggesting one cause is "our modern church has lost its appeal" but defends his column citing that Dallas is understaffed in its police and sheriff forces.
