A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Chairman, 24th District, United Texas Drys, from J. S. Tierce, Knox City, Texas, dated September 11, 1942. Tierce advises Carswell that the Haskell Missionary Baptist Association in its annual session at O'Brien, Texas has favored a compulsory course for all students on the "Effect of Beverage Alcohol".

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell from Alvy R. Couch, Haskell, Texas, dated January 11, 1941. Couch expresses his appreciation for the opportunity to have seen and talked with Carswell. He advises Carswell that after their visit he went to see Mr. Duff and had a nice visit with him and others in the office. Mr. Duff had nothing definite at the time but informed Couch that they might have an opening within a short time. The reverse side includes inked stamps of Local Board No. 1, Federal Bldg., Abilene, Taylor Co., Texas, Jan. 11, 1941.

A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Mrs. Glyn (Ethel) Quade, Sagerton, Texas, dated May 7, 1970. Quade expresses her wish to see him and Mrs. Carswell again and, also, expresses her appreciation for the Ideals subscription. She asks what is happening to our beautiful America, land of the free, discussing the student unrest not only on the campuses at Lawrence, Kansas where Larry attends and at the University of Texas where Lyndell attends but all over the country pointing to the war and draft as a continual dread for students. She advises that Glyn is doing fairly well, the Jack Quades are all right and asks after Mrs. Carswell.

A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Ethel and Glyn Quade, Sagerton, Texas, dated August 3, 1970. Quade expresses their disappointment that they missed Carswell when he drove out there. She expresses their appreciation for the azaleas and Ideals books, asks after Mrs. Carswell and invites him to drive out on Friday for an evening meal noting that Lyndell will be home that evening.

A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Ethel and Glyn Quade, Sagerton, Texas, dated November 16, 1970. The Quades express their appreciation for the gifts of the Ideals Book and the fruit cake and issue an invitation to Carswell to be with them on Thanksgiving day.

Letter written to Mr. Carswell from Glyn G. Quade, Sagerton, Texas dated February 1, 1973. Quade expresses his hope that Carswell has overcome his fall and is able to be around again. He advises that it is income tax reporting time again and that if Carswell is back at the office then he will bring his papers for him to prepare.
