Mrs. Toru Herndon, school Superintendent, said damage will amount to several thousand dollars. Also destroyed in the fire were Christmas gifts for the 665 girls of the school."

A hotel, the police department, mayor's office, Chamber of Commerce, supermarket and TV repair service all were lost. Hugh Marshall, 55, of Canadian, was charged with arson in the $500,000 fire."
