He writes from National Taiwan University in Taipei, where, thanks to a Fulbright scholarship, he has landed a teaching position. He informs Houston on his life in Taiwan and of general news in his professional career as a writer, academic, and filmmaker.

Letter, Christmas card, and photograph from Bruce to Sterling Houston, prominent San Antonio playwright. In his letter, he writes that it was great to see him perform. In the card, he discusses seeing Karen Finley perform on stage and making gingerbread houses to bring to an AIDS ward. In this same card, he has also included a photograph of (presumably) himself wearing a Santa Claus hat and embracing three large dogs. Behind him, on a wooden drawer, two colorful gingerbread houses have been placed.

Letter from Mario Marcel Salas, president of the Black Coalition on Mass Media, to KSAT Television. He writes to complain to the television station about a Bugs Bunny cartoon that was aired in which various racial slurs were used towards Japanese people. He hopes the airing was a mistake and an oversight on the part of the television station.

Letter from Bilger & Blair, attorneys at law, to William B. Ray, chief of the complaints and compliance division of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Although only one page of the letter has been provided, it would appear that the attorneys are explaining a miscommunication that occurred between members of the Black Coalition on Mass Media and the KAPE radio sales manager - Franklin Collins. He did not provide a copy of a renewal application because he did not know it was available.
