Trigg, Denton County school children sing "Happy Birthday" to Denton County, and McCoig, Mitchell, and Horn cut birthday cake on the courthouse lawn.

Panelists answer a series of questions about their early life and first impressions of Denton; segregation in Denton's schools and businesses and the impact of the Brown v. Board of Education decision on Denton County schools; the role of the University of North Texas faculty, Trinity Presbyterian Church, First Methodist Church, Mt. Pilgrim in Southeast Denton, and St. Paul's Lutheran Church on the formation of the Denton Women's Interracial Fellowship; experiences of gender discrimination; their experiences of joining the League of Women Voters; their first voting experience; their political or feminist inspirations; the possibility of a woman President of the United States; the value and purpose of International Women's Day; discrimination in present-day life in Denton County; and the panelists' thoughts on the future for women and minorities in the U.S. It concludes with an audience question-and-answer session including topics such as continued racial division and re-segregation in Denton, celebrations of International Women's Day, the impact of actions of Texas female politicians such as Ann Richards and Wendy Davis, societal expectations …

This home movie documents Afsheen Nomai and Laura Treat celebrating the Fourth of July in Denton, Texas. The movie begins with the Yankee Doodle Parade around the Courthouse Square. Local businesses seen as the crowd gathers include the Abbey Inn, More Fun Comics and Games, Atomic Candy, Chestnut Tree, Recycled Books and Records (Opera House), Andy's Bar, the Downtown Mini Mall, Well's Fargo bank, and McNeill's Appliances. Parade participants include Texas Isshinryu Karate Kai, Denton Institute of Phrenology Half-Fast Marching Band, Frack Free Denton, Denton Fire Department, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 920, Denton Future Farmers of America (FFA), Beth Marie's Old Fashioned Ice Cream, Girl Scouts, Cartwright's Ranch House, North Texas Youth Football Association (NTYFA), DC Raiders, and the Cross Timbers Community Church. Following the parade, Treat and Nomai attend a community and family event at the Quakertown Park and Denton Civic Center and watch a live musical performance on the courthouse lawn. The movie ends with fireworks at Apogee Stadium.

This video is composed of digitized 35 mm slides related to the North Texas State University (now UNT) media library services and functions. The slides include images of people using audiovisual equipment and materials including film and slide projectors and televisions, images related to the library's film rental and loan program including a brochure for the Gerontological Film Collection, interior and exterior images of Willis Library and Special Collections, unidentified students and library employees engaging in activities such as answering telephones and using the library card catalog, and numerous graphics and illustrations. There is no known existing sound recording or print documentation to accompany this slide presentation and therefore this video relied on the current organization of the slides. The original digital images are retained for preservation.

Friedsam, Cora Martin, and Herbert Shore with an grant from the Administration on Aging. The film discusses the institution's goal to prepare students for service to older persons.
