Recovery of Oil in California by Secondary Methods: In Two Parts - Part 2. Los Angeles Basin and Coastal Oil Fields
Report issued by the U.S. Bureau of Mines on secondary methods of oil-recovery in California oil fields. The main recovery method studied are of the pressure-maintenance type, such as air-injection. The report is divided into two parts, and includes maps and tables.

Arguello Area (ARMS-II)
"An Aerial Radiographic Measuring Survey (ARMS) of the Arguello area was made for the Civil Effects Test Operations, Division of Biology and Medicine, U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, by Edgerton, Germeshausen & Grier, Inc.(EG&G), between Apr. 5 and Apr. 29, 1962. The survey was part of a nationwide program to measure the present environmental levels of gamma radiation" (p. 5).

The Bowie-Gavin Process: Its Application to the Cracking of Tars and Heavy Oils, Also to the Recovery of Oil from Oil-Soaked Sands or Shales, or from Oil Shales
Technical paper issued by the Bureau of Mines over the Bowie-Gavin process. As stated in the introduction, "this paper describes a process and an apparatus designed to recover oil from such deposits" (p. 1). The results of experiments conducted using this process are discussed. This paper includes tables, illustrations, and photographs.
