The Hall Effect in Neutron Irradiated and Annealed Graphite
Abstract. Irradiated Whiting graphite possesses a small negative or a positive Hall constant, depending upon the dosage. Annealing at 500 degrees C for 1 hour in helium results in a Hall constant which is large in magnitude and negative in sign. The properties of the annealed graphite are presumably close to those of the original unirradiated material. Unirradiated AGOT-K graphite has a large, negative Hall constant. A mechanism is suggested which accounts for the change in sign of the Hall constant as a result of neutron bombardment.

Separation of Tuballoy From Gunk Solutions by Sulfite Precipitation
Summary: A method is presented for the precipitation of tuballoy, apparently as a tubanyl ammonium sulfite, from gunk solutions containing the contaminants encountered in the recovery cycle. The impurities are not precipitated under the conditions employed, and their amounts in the product are reduced to values which can be attributed to occlusion. The recovery of tuballoy on one precipitation ranges from 99.5% to 99.9%.

Effect of Engine-Operating Variables and Internal Coolants on Spark-Advance Requirements of a Liquid-Cooled Cylinder
"Tests were conducted to determine the effect of engine-operating variables and internal coolants on spark-advance requirements of a single cylinder from a 12-cylinder liquid-cooled engine for maximum take-off power and maximum cruise economy. The effects of fuel-air ratio, engine speed, air flow (charge density), mixture temperature, and internal coolants on peak-power (optimum) spark advance were investigated. In addition, tests were conducted to determine the effect of spark advance on the knock-limited engine performance at several mixture temperatures for conditions simulating take-off, high-power cruise, and low-power cruise" (p. 1).

Bending-Torsion Flutter Calculations Modified by Subsonic Compressibility Corrections
From Summary: "A number of calculations of bending-torsion wing flutter are made at two Mach numbers, m=0 (incompressible case) and m=0.7, and results are compared. The air forces employed for the case of m=0.7 are based on Frazer's recalculation of Possio's results, which are derived on the assumption of small disturbances to the main flow. For ordinary wings of normal density and of low bending frequency in comparison with torsion frequency, the compressibility correction to the flutter speed appears to be of the order of a few percent; whereas the correction to flutter speed for high-density wing sections, such as propeller sections, and to the wing-divergence speed in general, may be based on a rule using the (1 - m(2))1/4 factor and, for m=0.7, represents a decrease of the order of 17 percent."
