From Introduction: "The Elko Quandrangle, in northeastern Nevada and western Utah between latitude 40º and 41º and longitude 114º and 116º (Fig. 1), was evaluated to identify geologic units and delineate areas that exhibit characteristics favorable for the occurrence of uranium deposits. Geologic environments were evaluated on the basis of surface investigations and limited subsurface data."

The following report documents the results of the airborne gamma radiation and total magnetic field survey flown for the Elko quadrangle between Nevada and Utah in 1979.

From Purpose and Scope: "The Wells 2º Quadrangle, Nevada, Utah, and Idaho (Fig. 1), was evaluated to identify and delineate areas and geologic environments that exhibit characteristics favorable for the occurrence of uranium deposits. All geologic environments in the quadrangle were evaluated to a depth of 1500 m (5,000 ft) using all available surface and subsurface data."

Data gathered at ground water sites in the Elko quadrangle, including applicable water chemistry measurements (e.g., pH, conductivity, alkalinity), physical measurements (e.g., temperature, well description, scintillometer readings), and elemental analyses.
