On the Theory of the Compton Effect on a Meson (open access)

On the Theory of the Compton Effect on a Meson

The equations of Proka in the field of the plane wave are considered in this paper. When the energies of the incident quantum are large, a solution is reached in a closed form. On the basis of the solutions obtained, the diffusion of light on a meson is evaluated by the method of delayed potentials.

The Most Recent and One of the Smallest in the World, Zoe, French Atomic Pile is the First One of Continental Europe

France took a place as one of the atomic nations on December 15, 1948 as the first French pile was started at the fort of Chetillon. Not intended for the making of bombs, the pile is to be used to find the techniques necessary for the realization of more powerful piles which are studied at the time.

Electrochemical Research on Polonium

The author reviews briefly the present state of several important problems of the electrochemistry and the chemistry of polonium; the position of this element in the electromotive series, the nature of the ions and the electrolytic deposits which they form, the valences, the nature of the precipitates of Po that is observed in solutions which are feebly acid or feebly alkaline.

X-Ray Analysis of the Complex Salts of the Glyoximes with Ni++. II Structural Analysis According to Patterson

In continuation of the x-ray study of Ni-dimethylglyoxime and Ni-methylethylglyoxime, the Patterson xy plane projection is performed, and on the basis of the vectorial values and angles thus calculated a model of molecular structure is proposed which corresponds to the exigency of the crystallographic and physical-chemical property of the examined compounds.

Cathode Sputtering Problems

The question of the nature and charge of the metallic particles emitted in cathode sputtering has been answered experimentally: the particles are primarily neutral atoms. The proof was obtained from the moving particles themselves by a new "spectroscopic method of vapor pressure measurement" in combination with a "vapor pressure measurement from coating density."
