Patent for an Artesian or oil well drilling apparatus that has a detachable drill-bit in its tubing and has an "improved means whereby an expansion drill bit or blade of any preferred construction can be secured to or detached from the drill tubing without removing the latter from the well" (lines 12-15). The tubing does not accidentally detach, and the tubing can rotate in either direction.

This design consists in "the frame having the pulley, the follower having the pulleys, and the shaft having the loose drums . . . means for locking either of the said drums to the said shaft, the rope attached to the drum and passing over the pulley with which the follower is provided, and secured to an immovable object, and the rope attached to the drum, passed over the pulley and attached to the follower" (lines 27-35).

Patent for a subsoil plow that is adjustable and includes a root cutter.

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the plow-beam and plow, of the semicircular stay-brace pivotally secured to the beam at one end and at the other end formed with a slot and a horizontal portion extending across the top of the beam, the bolt passed through the slot into the beam, the colter, and the adjustable wedge-shaped block having a plurality of depressions upon its inner face to receive the horizontal portion of the brace" (lines 81-90).
