Report issued by the Bureau of Mines over investigations of coking coal reserves of Sequatchie County, Tennessee. Testing to determine suitability for producing metallurgical coke is also presented. This report includes tables, graphs, maps, illustrations, and photographs.

From major objective: The over-all aim of the study has been to obtain a thorough geologic picture of the Chattanooga shale in the area under consideration, with emphasis upon stratigraphic relationships and associated special problems from which, in turn, implications may be obtained as to the origin and age of the formation and possibly the source of the uranium. The study has not been aimed primarily at exploration for uranium and its economic aspects.

Patent for a lifting clamp for well casings. It is designed to make the lifting of well casings easier and safer for those attaching the clamp to the lifting mechanism.

Patent for an invention that "relates to improvements in hoisting drums" (line 15-16). Structure, objective, and illustrations of hoisting drums are included.

Patent for a rail splice that joins the ends of railway tracks to one another to prevent spreading of the tracks and is easily taken on and off for repair work.
