A report regarding petrographic study of sandstone of the Inyan Kara group and associated rocks in the Black hills, Wyoming and South Dakota

This report follows the evaluation of uranium resources in the Ekalaka 1°x 2° Quadrangle, Montana and North and South Dakota to a depth of 1,500 m (5,000 ft) using available subsurface geologic information.

The following report covers the Petrographic study of Early Cretaceous age sandstone beds in the Fall River formation and the Fuson-Lakota formations, as well as Late Jurassic age beds in the underlying Unkpapa and Morrison formations along the western side of the Black Hills.

"Deposits of uraniferous lignites were discovered at Blue Buttes, eastern Montana; and at North Cave Hills, South Cave Hills, and at Slim Buttes in northwestern South Dakota."

Report discussing the geology of the Calamity Peak area of Custer County, South Dakota. This area "was mapped to determine the relationship between the granite-pegmatite complex and the pegmatites containing beryl and other industrial minerals."

From introduction: This volume contains information and survey results pertaining specifically to the Hot Springs NTMS 1:250,000 scale Quadrangle, South Dakota, one of a group of 12 such quadrangles in Arizona, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Washington included in an aerial radiometric and magnetic reconnaissance survey. General information concerning the instrumentation and methods used in data acquisition, processing, and interpretation is presented in Volume 1 of this final report.

From introduction: This report details the reconnaissance for uraniferous lignites in North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming during 1948 and 1949.

Patent for the construction of "metallic spokes" for bicycles and similar wheels (Lines 12-13) which use broad or double tire wheels (line 15).

Patent for an improvement on vehicle wheels to "provide a novel and inexpensive safety-guard for wheels of the above-referred-to class, whereby the wheel will be prevented from entering crevices and cracks" (lines 14-18) and to improve durability.

Patent for a strong, durable, and inexpensive vehicle-wheel in children's carriages with a double-felly wheel meant to broaden "the tread thereof sufficiently to prevent the wheels falling into cracks between boards of board walks, such as are common in the suburbs or rural districts" (lines 15-19). The spokes are like that of a single-felly wheel.
