Patent for an invention to aid in the treatment of treating timber. The invention is said to "provide a simple, inexpensive, durable, and efficient apparatus by means of which railroad cross-ties, fence-posts, and the like may be expeditiously and economically treated by immersion in a bath of some preserving liquid" (lines 16-22) including illustrations.

Patent for an eye testing device that has a movable lens, a measuring device for correction, and two different cards with test type on them which are fed into the machine during testing for astigmatism and myopia, presbyopia, and hyperopia to determine the level of correction needed in glasses.

Patent for a new and improved canopy for folding beds. This design "will automatically fold up within the bed when the same is closed, and will similarly open out with the opening of the bed without any other attention than the proper arrangement of the folds of the mosquito or fly netting" (lines 21-25). It consists in "an automatically raising and lowering canopy consisting of a raising-frame having vertical bars pivoted to the bed at the bottom and a horizontal connecting-bar at the top, a canopy-top frame pivoted to the bed-casing, having side bars and a horizontal connecting-bar, and couplings" (lines 13-19).

Patent for "the provision of a chair or a seat which may readily be converted into a cot when occasion demands" (lines 9-12) including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for an airship with multiple gas bags inside an outer enclosing casing, which maintain the buoyancy of the airship in case one or more of the smaller bags should rupture. This airship also supports one or more persons other than the pilot, has an "envelop adapted to serve as a parachute in the event of danger", and can "alight upon and rise from the surface of a body of water".

Patent for an improvement in a "battery of guns, and has for its object the operating of any one of the guns by the recoil of another and in succession as long as may be deemed necessary" (lines 7-11).

Patent for a new and improved washing machine. This design "relates to improvements in the class of washing-machines commonly known as 'cylinder washing-machines,' and has for its object the production of a machine which will operate thoroughly and expeditiously, and without injury to the fabric, while at the same time it is light and inexpensive in construction and simple in operation; and with these ends in view the invention consists in the novel combination and arrangement of parts" (lines 10-20).

Patent for "a new and useful improvement in side-saddles, and consists in forming the saddle-tress hollow, or with air-chambers within." (Lines 9-11) Includes instructions and illustrations.

Patent for an improvement in postage or revenue stamps. Patent for postage or revenue stamp "composed of two superposed sheets or layers, A B, the top layer carrying the printed designs, having parallel incisions therein, and the bottom layer being provided with adhesive material on the back". Patent for postage and revenue stamps that cannot be re-used.

Patent for certain new and useful improvements in metal fasteners for envelops, including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a form of mold that is constructed to expand and contract quickly to form sidewalks and curbs.

Patent for invention is to utilize in rejected hydraulic matter such as decomposed limestone.

Patent for a new and improved nail-driving tool. This design consists, "with the shell of the tool formed with recesses and a guide-groove . . . the driving-bar provided with notch, die, and roller, spline guided in the groove of the shell, and the returning-spring, of the levers having toes, the former of said levers bearing normally upon the roller, the spring secured to said shell, bearing by its ends upon the ends of the said levers, and the magazine obliquely attached to the shell, provided with an opening and a spring-closing device" (lines 32-43).

Patent for a new and improved watch. This design "has relation particularly to an improvement in mechanism for winding and setting the watch, so that the 'movement' may be rendered interchangeable for application to a case, whether arranged for a hunting-case watch or an open-face watch. In watches as commonly constructed a different arrangement is made for the winding and setting mechanism for a hunting-case watch from that of one having an open face" (lines 12-21).

Patent for a tent stake that is used with a metal guy or rope. The purpose of this tent stake is to secure tents under all weather conditions.

Patent for a new and improved railway-tie. This design "is to produce a simple and inexpensive tie which may be easily secured in a road-bed and to which the rails may be solidly and conveniently fastened and which is also adapted to be used in connection with wooden sleepers, being constructed so that it may be easily placed in position between wooden sleepers without tearing up the rails" (lines 9-16).

Patent for a new and improved rotary steam engine. This design "first, provide[s] a novel form of valve for regulating the induction and eduction of steam to and from the cylinder; second, [it] provide[s] novel devices for reversing the movements of the rotating pistons; and, third, [it] provide[s] novel combinations of the parts of which the engine is composed"

Patent for a new and improved barber's chair. This design relates to certain improvements in registering devices for barber-chairs, and has for its object to provide means whereby a correct tally can be kept of the persons shaved and the number of hair-cuts which have been performed during the day, week, or month. . . . [The] invention is only applicable to the style of barber-chairs that have a tilting motion backward and forward, for the purpose of more conveniently placing the person when being shaved or having his [or her] hair cut" (lines 10-21).

Patent for a new and improved fan attachment. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the sewing-machine table and the upright of the fan-supporting frame, of the triangular base provided with a rubber-covered base hinged to a sleeve adjustably fitted upon said upright" (lines 111-115).
