Patent for "a tool adapted to rotate valves of an internal combustion engine for grinding the same on their seats." (lines 9-11) It is adapted to connect to the cylinder "of the engine in such a manner as to permit accurate and quick operation of the valve for grinding it, and whereby the handle of the tool may be set at a convenient angle for manipulation, and may be lengthened or shortened according to requirements." This design "is provided with means for giving an alarm when an attempt is made to enter the same; and it also has a device for clamping it to the berth or other part of the apartment in which the traveler lodges, so that when the alarm sounds he [or she] is awakened, and thus notified at an attempt at robbery.
