Coin-Controlled Apparatus.

Patent for a simple, inexpensive, and durable coin-controlled apparatus that is "designed to indicate by the varying positions occupied by the spheres, the nature of a dream, the apparatus being designed primarily as a dream-revealer" (lines 17-20). The operator pulls a lever which forces the dice inside the glass container to move into holes. The operator reads a key on the outside of the device that indicates what he will dream.

Bale-Wiring Tool.

Patent for a bale wiring tool that "consists of a shank of proper length and diameter, with wire clamping and cutting mechanism on its lower end, and mechanism on its other end to rotate said tool" (lines 23-27). It also has "two independent clamping and cutting jaws, so that one wire can be clamped in the tool, while the other wire can be drawn tight around the bale and then placed in the tool and clamped and cut off, when the tool can be rotated by a brace or by a rack and pinion...and the wire twisted to form a tie" (lines 28-35).

Patent for a new and improved head protector. This design utilizes a wire "skeleton mask" and corresponding cap that holds the former in place. Patent for a simple hammering machine for circular saws that "carries the saw in such a way that it may be held at any necessary or desired angle to suit the operator, which has a sliding anvil adapted to be adjusted so as to come opposite the various parts of the saw, which is provided with an adjustable hammer adapted to be brought opposite the anvil, which is constructed so as to cause a blow to expand both sides of the saw equally, and which in general is intended to facilitate the quick and efficient hammering of a saw" (lines 12-23).

Device for Converting Reciprocating into Rotary Motion.

Patent for a new and improved device for converting reciprocating into rotary motion. This design "has for its object to provide means whereby rotary motion may be converted into reciprocating motion or reciprocating motion into rotary motion without the intervention of cranks; and to this end it consists in a mutilated gear pinion secured to a rotating shaft and provided with suitable cams, whereby the gear-teeth upon the pinion are caused to engage with gear-teeth upon a yoke embracing said pinion" (lines 23-32).

Cotton Gin.

Patent for a new and improved cotton gin. This design "consists in the combination of the bevel-edged boards with the saws and brush, so as to facilitate the transfer of the cotton from the saws to the arc-shaped support consisting of the bevel-edged boards set at a short distance apart, and to thus straighten the fiber or lint. This gives the lint cotton a finer and lighter appearance, causing a ready allowance of a considerable addition to the usual price" (lines 8-17).

Report presenting an investigation by the transonic-bump method through a range of Mach numbers in the high speed 7- by 10-foot tunnel to determine the lateral-control characteristics of a semispan wing-fuselage combination equipped with flap-type and spoiler-type controls. Both the flap-type and spoiler-type controls provide lateral control through the Mach number range investigated.
