Patent for "sliding doors for freight cars, stock cars, &c., in which the car door is suspended at its upper end by means of suitable hangers engaging a track or guide rail extended above and to one side of the door-way in such manner that the door, when unfastened, may be made to slide sidewise to give access to the interior of the car." Patent for a cooking stove that uses heat from a charcoal furnace efficiently, which increases the length the stove is hot and decreases the risk of suffocation from the gas given off by the furnace.

Felly for Wheels.

Patent for a felly for wheels designed to be used for a heavy wagon or cultivators. It consists of malleable iron with the inside edge being smaller than the outside, an indentation in the center going around the outside surface, and conical spoke sockets.

Lock-Hinge.

Patent for a combined lock and door hinge for a door where it "is automatically locked or held in a set position without special adjustment or manipulation, and by which, by the adjustment of a member provided for that purpose, the door may be locked permanently in any desired position" (lines 12-17). It is especially meant for screen doors, coach doors in railway cars, shutters, &c.

Patent for "an improvement in the construction of road pavements, and has for its objects to provide a novel, simple, and comparatively inexpensive method and means for the speedy and convenient construction of a road bed, which will be smooth, durable, easy to travel upon, be readily repaired, avoid becoming slippery, that will not cut into ruts but preserve its normal condition, that will shed water in a large degree but retain a proper amount of moisture, and be non-liable to displacement by the action of frost." Patent for a station-indicator for trolley cars meant to "produce an automatic apparatus of this kind which is worked by the movement of the car and in which a map is employed, which is moved in such a way that the various points at which the car stops will always be correctly indicated" (lines 13-18).

Trunk-Strap Fastener.

Patent for an inexpensive and simple trunk strap fastener meant to "insure a strong tightening of the same without resorting to the old laborious method of buckling the strap about the baggage, while at the same time the invention also contemplates the employment of a specific arrangement of the strap about the article being bound therewith, in combination with the fastener proper whereby a stronger and more efficient strapping is effected" (lines 16-25).
