Patent for "car-couplers of the class known as 'link-and-pin' couplers, and has for its object the provision of means whereby the coupling is effected automatically and whereby the coupling-pin is made to actuate the brake-shaft" (lines 14-19).

Patent for "a cheap and simple construction of bed of this class, adapted to be readily folded or unfolded and to provide means for automatically folding and unfolding the legs for supporting the foot of the bed-frame when said frame is raised or lowered" (lines 9-15)

Patent for a new and improved blank book. This design "consists in securing blank sheets to a binding forming the back of the book . . . so that the attachment and detachment of the sheets may be conveniently effected. Thus [the design] produce[s] a blank book which is particularly adapted for use of type-writers and other copyists" (lines 11-18).

Patent for improvements to typewriting machines with the aim of providing "a machine of simple and durable construction, capable of use for the ordinary purposes to which type-writers are applied, but especially adapted and designed for typewriting upon blank books, thereby facilitating the making of official records and producing records that are more legible and compact than it is possible to obtain by handwriting" (lines 11-18).

Patent for improvements in "a raising and lowering mechanism for harvesters, and more especially to a mechanism so arranged that it can be operated by the driver from his seat without checking the machine and while the machine is in motion" (lines 8-13).

Patent for a method to extinguish fire. In a fire event, a container holding sulfur and alum is added to a tank holding water, soda and salt which will create pressure and eject the water in the tank.

Patent for a new and improved plow. This design is "to provide a plow adapted to be used in connection with either single or double sweeps and to facilitate the application and removal of either thereof, and, furthermore, to provide means for steadying the plow during operation" (lines 8-14). It consists, "with the beam and standard, of the triangular brace having a series of adjusting holes at its upper end and at its lower front end curved upwardly, forwardly, and downwardly and at its extremity slotted, the adjusting-bolts . . . passed through the adjusting-holes and slot, [and] the steel shoe" (lines 6-13).

Patent for an "economically and simply constructed machine adapted to be drawn along over rows of plants and to spread powdered poison over the same for the destruction of insects" while also protecting the driver (lines 10-13).

Patent for a new and improved tire-tightener. This design "has for its object to improve the means for lifting the felly so as to permit the insertion of a washer between the felly and the spoke, so as to take up any slack or looseness that may have occurred, and thus tighten the tire on the felly" (lines 15-20). It consists, "with a block adapted to be clamped to a spoke and an adjusting-screw, of a jaw operated by said screw and having its upper portion extended or curved to one side and then bifurcated to form two arms, each of which is provided with a fork adapted to lie against the under face" (lines 39-46).

Patent for "a machine chiefly adapted for making or grinding molding bits or knives with either a straight or irregular cutting-edge; but my invention is also adapted for making and grinding other edged tools and implements" (lines 13-18).

Patent for "improvements in vertical gearing for harvesters and binders in which the main operating-shaft is carried in a vertical position, thereby securing a larger range to elevate the machine and securing a perfect balance of the machine on the ground-wheels without extending parts of the machine to the front or rear" (lines 8-15).
